Isabella Marie Swan moved to Forks, Washington to let her mother, ReneĆ©, have time with her new husband, Phil. This act set many plans into motion and if she hadn’t of moved, the world might have been different.
Bella, as she likes to be called, met the Cullen family on her first day of school, her eyes drifting to Edward Cullen. She was told that he doesn’t date and to not get her hopes up at all. After seeing him, she realized that she had classes with him, where he avoided her at all costs. Soon, she found out that the Cullen’s were more than just human, they were Vampires. Finding this out made Bella more interested in them, and fueled her passion for Edward. Bella got herself in trouble when James, a tracker, and Victoria came into town. Again, plans were placed into motion to harm Bella, but Edward and the other Cullen’s thwarted their plans.
The forbidden romance between Edward and Bella stopped suddenly as Edward left her, thinking it was for her benefit. This left Bella in a somewhat catatonic state, only to be reached by an old friend of hers, Jacob Black. Their friendship blossomed and Jacob started to love her. It was in that mindset when Jacob realized that he and his friends on the Reservation were just like their ancestors, were-wolves. Bella couldn’t, at first, hang out with him anymore and it made her feel like he left her too. She started to do things that put her in harms way to ‘hear’ Edward’s voice. It was in this that Jacob told her that he was were-wolf. Once she was told, she really didn’t care that he was different. She was dating a vampire for heaven’s sake. Deciding to go cliff diving without Jacob, Alice, the precognition vampire, caught sign of it and told Edward. They both thought that Bella was killing herself, and Edward sought out the Volturi in order to kill himself. In an effort to stop him, Alice and Bella went to Italy and bartered with the Volturi to save his life. The only problem with that was they had to promise to turn Bella, since she was human that knew too much. However, after Alice, Bella, and Edward left the young Volturi guard member, Jane proposed an offer to their leader Aro. Itching for a good show, she proposed a most definite plan that would change the world forever.
She place a bet stating that Bella would be turned within the next two years and Aro, with his history with Edward knew that he would push back her turning and agreed to bet against her stating that she would not be turned. Aro was very confident in Edward and knew that this bet was sure and done. If Aro won, Jane and her brother Alec would have to stay quiet and not disrupt the peace for the next fifty years. However, Jane wanted more if she won. She wanted to be able to have a little fun and by evoking the power of all the vampire guards and what magik they still held, she offered her main plot to change the world. Her plot insisted that if Bella did turn before the 2 year mark then Jane would envoke old powers, switching the world into another dimension. Bad would become good and good would become bad, except for many vampires. These vampires would have a choice whether or not they wanted to become bad or good. The entire world would know about wolves and vampires, releasing their true identity and accepting them. Aro reluctantly agreed to her bet and the motion was set forth.
After graduation and much debate, it was decided that Edward would in fact turn Bella only if he married him. After much reluctance, Bella agreed to marrying him and the wedding day was soon to come. This plan turned sour on one day, as Edward was out hunting. Bella was out to tell Jacob her plans of changing, to warm him that they would no longer see each other, when she met Edward out in the forest. Bella, being only human, couldn’t fight him off, ending in her turning.
Moments after her heart stopped and the turn was complete, the entire world felt a hitch, a change. The bet had been fulfilled and regrettably, Jane had won. Since Bella was newly turned and the bloodlust was so strong, when the choice came to her to become evil or good, she deeply and gladly chose evil. However, when the Cullens’ finally realized what happened, they were faced with a decision, evil or good? Could they stay the same ‘vegetarian’ vampires in a world that knew all about them, didn’t care about them, and a world that was full of human blood just pounding away? When Edward found out that Bella chose evil, he couldn’t stop himself from following in her footsteps and he has now embraced his monster within. Now, vampires all around are facing a choice of whether or not they will stay evil, stay good, or become their opposite. Even though Jane had hoped that only vampires would be able to choose, the power has spread to any and every being who was more than human. Witches, warlocks, werewolves, all of them were able to chose their position in life and now everyone except humans are faced with the same thing. Will waking the monster within them be too tempting in a world that is full of deep, dark despair?
