Background information;;
Although this didn't happen in the books,, i feel the need to have a thread that everyone can be involved with... so here we go!
Yes,, its this time again. As all the school pupils return back to school,, the planning for a party to celebrate coming back for another year! yes it seems silly. But everyone got involved and they came up with a hell of a fun thing to happen.
It's not as formal as there prom,, or the party after graduation. As Alice Cullen came up with the idea of having a 'mascaraed ball' and everyone jumping on to the band wagon,, that what has came from it.
So the small school ballroom,, has been re-decorated,, by none other than the Alice Cullen,, with the help of all the other class mates of course.
Everything is dark and mysterious and as the theme is mask's,, both males and females can wear them,, supposedly hiding everyones face. So no one is going to know who is who,, who the dance with or anything... it is all random... Alice obviously see's this as a good idea... but now she has to live up to her standard...
and let the party begin!
And finally as it is all by invitation only,, the whole school had received invitations,, but any one can invite anyone,, so don't be surprised when them kids from La Push turn up wanting to start a scene. Or just show them selfs off.
Also,, there should be so adults in the thread as well,, 'cause the students wouldn't be allowed to throw a party with out supervision.
So everyone should be able to find some reason to be at the party!

A small pixie like figure stood at the back of the room admiring her handy work... and of course the handy work of her class mates. And many of her year. She smiled to herself,, with a sense of self satisfaction. It was perfect. It looked so dark and mysterious. she just hoped everyone would stick to the theme,, mask's and ball gowns. And for the guys obviously they would have to wear a fitted suit or just a tux.
But already Alice could see it would be perfect. She smiled,, as she looked down at her tiny cocktail dress,, and the golden mask that she wore on her face,, was still not enough to be able to disguise herself from everyone. She always stood out,, as she was the tiniest. Everyone knew who she was,, as she walked toward one of the round tables they had moved earlier from the dinner hall,, but had now been draped in a sheer black cloth. That hid what the tables looked like under neath,, all the scratches were no longer visible.
She knew it would be a success. She smiled as she heard someone approach the door out side,, she danced across to the music system she'd took from her and Jasper's room at the house,, and flicked the switch as a low mumbling began. It was a classical peace of music,, but it was sure to change as she had picked a compilation that was perfect for the evening. This music was just to help set the atmosphere of the room. And it would work,, she just needed Jazz to turn to make sure everyone got the full affect of it.
"Hey" she chimed out,, as she heard to the door creak open. Wondering who it was she spun around,, as she grinned at the entering people.
[OOC;; any one can enter the thread...]

[x][x] I was afraid... because, for, well, obvious reasons, I can't stay with you. And I'm afraid that I'd like to stay with you, much more than I should. She didn't like this, not one bit. And yet here she was, sitting in the driver's seat of her truck, staring down at the wheel and contemplating how far she could get before Alice saw her running, and Edward inevitably brought her back. “Urgh,” the desperate moan escaped her lips as she threw her forehead against the top of the wheel, her auburn hair coming to cover her face as she shook her head from side to side. This was not her idea of fun. They all knew that. All of them. And yet here she was making her way to a ball. Even the name sounded evil, and not just because the revolting tint her thoughts associated with it. The day was horrendous. And it seemed to only be getting worse. Who in their right mind actually expected her to dance? Damn. She shook her head again, as if trying to clear away the confused thoughts that were jumping around inside of it. Stupid vampires. And their stupid dances. And their stupid… everything. She sighed again, her head coming up from the wheel almost instantaneously. She’d have to get going soon, surely her sitting around complaining about everything in her mind had taken up at least a half hour of her time. So she’d be late. Great. She was surprised Edward hadn’t already arrived to deliver her. Slowly, as if the action itself were dooming her, she turned the key in the ignition, her truck jumping to life with its usual roar. That was slightly comforting, even if nothing else was tonight. She backed out slowly, her eyes very carefully on the road in front of her. If luck would have it she would wreck before she got there, what with the three inch heels that adorned her feet. Ah, no thoughts of what she was wearing, no thinking of that matter. Without really thinking she glanced up at the sky out of her window, again contemplating how far she could get before Alice was fully aware. Maybe if she threw off these ridiculous heels, and pushed her truck hard enough, she could make it over the boundary line and onto the reservation. She was still furious with Jake, that backstabbing, so called best friend. But there were others there, others who wouldn’t expect to see her all dolled up as she was. A smile tinged the corner of her lips. The reservation sounded more than nice right about now… However she was already turning into the highschool parking lot. Her eyes scanned the nearly empty parking spaces and she felt her breath catch in her chest. And here she’d thought she’d be late. But apparently she was to be the first one to arrive, other than the genius who created it all of course. She supposed it was better than arriving once everyone was already there, only to watch her trip over her feet as she entered. Her parking choice was relatively easy, the closer to the exit the better. She pulled the keys out of the ignition slowly, quickly disposing of them under the seat. She didn’t suppose that anyone made dresses for practicality, like storing keys to their vehicle. Her eyes slid to the passenger seat, the elaborate white mask staring back up at her as if mockingly. It was far too expensive she was sure, and while she might not be an expert, but she was sure that it looked far too nice to be any cheap fabric. Leave it to Alice to pick something she knew to be out of Bella’s price range. She felt a twinge of uncomfort pass through her as she brought the mask slowly to her face, tying the strings in the back slowly as if to prolong the inevitable. She let her hands drop her eyes going to the rearview mirror, the image surprising her more than slightly. Of course Alice would’ve known what kind of makeup to put on her earlier to compliment the mask. Of course. Opening the door she slid to the ground, being careful to pull her dress just right from its rumpled state due to the truck. White and simply cut, she was glad that Alice hadn’t gone too overboard with it all. She paused at the doors, her reflection staring back at her through the glass. She supposed she looked alright all things considering. Her makeup was impeccable, the eyeliner and mascara a bit darker than she would’ve gone, but then she supposed it did bring her eyes out. And the dress was no doubt designer, and seemingly made for her. Damn Alice. She wasn’t supposed to appreciate her work even a little, though she knew without her she would’ve come in jeans and a tee-shirt. And no doubt been as much out of place as the day she had arrived. Making her way through the school was relatively easy, though she paused at the door before opening it, walking in upon the wonders Alice had created in so short a time. She pasted a smile upon her lips as she stepped through, Alice's greeting making her feel more at ease. "Hey Alice,"she responded slowly, walking carefully into the room. Hopefully Edward would be here soon, she couldn't stand the fact that they hadn't been able to come together. But at least he'd be here...she hoped... [[Sorry it's so bad, I didn't have as much muse as I would've liked]] [/size][/blockquote]

I was a fool for no one,, but ohh i'm a fool for you. You caught me under false pretenses How long before you let me go? __________________________________
[/b] Rosalie sighed, Alice Jeez, she had to come to this stupid ball thing even if she didn't want too. Alice would never forgive her if she didn't. As much as she didn't want to be here she would make the most of it, Emmett would hopefully turn up at some point in the evening any way. that automatically brought a smile to her face, so they would hopefully be able to get to spend some time together. As they hadn't recently been together much, each of them had other things to do. Truthfully, sometimes Rosalie loved the distance between her and her husband, but she couldn't bare it for long. She couldn't keep away for more than a day. She needed him like she needed to feast on blood, that red substance that was a taboo subject with the Cullen’s. Emmett was her best friend, the only person she truly trusted. Her life, but she would have gave it all up to become human. That though always played at the back of her mind, human. Human, human, human, why did that have to happen. She couldn't deny she would nearly always be bitter about what she was. She was a monster after all, and Carlisle made her this way but if she hadn't become this she would never have met her Emmett. She'd need to thank Alice for the dress she'd picked out for her, it was perfect after all, it complimented her figure perfectly. The long flowing black dress material felt good against her skin. Like satin, she adored it. She knew she would look good in what ever she chose or had given to her by Alice. Alice really was a vision in herself. Rose had previously seen what she would be wearing and she had looked stunning in it, Jasper wouldn't complain about it. Well no male would, not even Emmett if didn't have Rose obviously as he wouldn't look at another female while he had Rose by his side, as she always looked better than anyone else. And she had to admit she liked it. She smiled to herself as she approached the school in her Red BMW M3, she loved this car more than anything with its top speed being over a hundred and ninety miles per hour. Which was good, as she liked to push her car to its limits as often as she could. But when she was in Forks she couldn't often try out the speed of the car, Charlie would no doubt catch her in the act of speeding, and inevitable she’d have earned herself a ticket. She looked up into the small mirror that she used -or she was supposed to use- to look behind her but she never really did. She smiled at herself, stretching her perfect lips, making sure she looked as close to perfect in her eyes as she could. Her topaz coloured eyes were framed in a dark eye liner that she loved to use so much. She wanted to look different tonight so she'd chosen make-up that would make her look less, lovable. And maybe more mysterious. Though obviously it might not have worked. As she step out of her car. As she held her mask in her hands, she didn't want to be here. Everyone knew that. She had so much other stuff she could be doing now. And she wasn't she was here going to a ball at high school, she thought she'd have lost all that stuff but now she was here going to school and taking part in everything they wanted her to do. She pulled her mask up too her face, as she slowly tied the string at the back, she pulled her hair over the string to hide it as she made for the entrance of the school. She smiled as she smelled Bella, she truly did want to know what Alice had dressed Bella up as or tried to do with her this time. Though there would be barley any one there, as she couldn't pick up there scent's. She entered the big room, with a beaming smile spread across her lips. She'd at least pretend she wanted to be here for her sisters sake. "Alice... you've really done well with... making this place look... professional" she smirked at her. As she watched her little sister beam a smile at Bella. "And Bella... wow, Alice what have you done she actually looks good. Edward will be pleased" she smiled. As she walked into the center of the room, her stilettos clicked across the floor. [/blockquote][/size]

Alice smiled as she Bella,, she looked almost perfect. She had to admit that she was pleased with what she had picked out for Bella. She looked stunning and she loved it. Bella... Edward would be pleased with how she looked,, but of course he was the perfect... or not so perfect gentleman,, as Alice new what Edward would have liked to do to Bella but he couldn’t or just wouldn’t allow himself to even think of that,, he would no doubt end up killing her. But he wouldn't take Bella and his relationship any further for the time being. Which must have sucked for Bella,, not even Alice would have been able to live with herself if she hadn't had some affection from Jasper in a day. It would have driven her crazy. But she loved him more than anything else in the world,, and as much as she was sure it the same way for Bella and Edward... she couldn't be sure. Though a beaming smile spread across her face as she watched Bella approach her.
"Bella... you really do look good... the dress is perfect as i knew it would be,, but still you look amazing and the mask... your okay with that right?" she smiled her perfect smile,, that always managed to amaze most people. The mask really had been expensive thing to buy for Bella. But hell like she cared she could afford what ever she wanted,, which was a good thing. And she'd wanted that specific mask for Bella. It was perfect. She liked it,, and even if Bella wasn't happy she was keeping it on all evening. Else Alice would be very,, disruptive of her evening.. until she had her own way of course. Or maybe some emotional blackmail,, something Alice wasn't proud of but she had been known to do it before and wasn't afraid to do it again. If it meant she had her own way.
She laughed as she adjusted her black cock taildress. She loved her own dress more than anything else of course as she'd picked this one herself,, from an exclusive range of cloths. And she was sure she'd only need to wear it once before she decided it looked too used,, then she would no doubt through it out. Or give it too someone who looked like they needed the boost. She altered the way the dress sat on her perfect body,, before letting her hands move to her head were she tied the mask straps a little tighter,, she knew maybe her mask was a little over the top for this occasion but she didn't care it was all about looking good. And that she most definitely did at the moment.
She snickered as she heard Rosalie approach the door,, and walk into the still empty room. At least she'd have the support from her family,, more people had to turn up surely. They just had too. She smiled at Rosalie when she complimented the room. "Thanks Rose... i didn't think you were going to turn up,, at least a couple of hours ago you weren't going to be here" she sighed,, pleased that her sister had chosen to come here in the end.
"Edward will love her... she dose look amazing if i do say so myself" she snickered,, before twirling around Bella so she could see everything on her. Makeing sure nothing was out of place at all,, as that would need to fixed as soon as possible if there was something wrong. But there wasn't,, you could tell Bella had say in her dress... but it was ok. Alice could live with that,, that was totally fine for her. Rose as well,, she looked amazing as well. Emmett would no doubt be all over her as soon as he arrived. As it was no secret that Rosalie and Emmett had a very... open and elaborate relationship,, which meant that they were all over each other all the time. Which was okay,, as long as Alice didn't have to suffer too much by it. Alice was practically gyrating on the spot waiting for more people to turn up.
"Rose,, you look amazing as well,, really beautiful to be honest I couldn’t have done any better myself" she smiled at the both of them,, Rose and Bella were picture perfect,, especially Rosalie,, she was the most perfect thing in the room and no doubt she already knew that. She grinned,, flashing her teeth at the both of them.
_________ Sorry museless at the moment

What she is wearing: dress: i180.photobucket.com/albums/x268/mariacibr/dress.jpgmask: i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa139/Sheilamurphy1/fairy%20and%20masks%20graphics/Christine_by_Foxfires.jpgAlice had been very nice to aske Esme to Chaperone this ball. She was glad to get involved in their lives in any way. But this was something that was fun and a parental obligation. She hoped Carlisle would be able to attend also. This would be something she would love to do with him, but he was at the hospital but there was still time for him to get there. She smoothed her dress as she exited the car. After putting on her mask, she made her way to the dance hall. She couldn't help but smile at the decorative skills her daughter had. They were exquisite as was her fashion sense. She was a force to be reconed with. Alice had helped her find something to wear tonight. It was a fun shopping trip that day and she had enjoyed it like all of the other trips they had taken together. She knew that her children were here somewhere. But she wouldn't look for them. They could have fun tonight, it was their night after all. So she settled on walking about the room admiring the decorations. (My muse doesn't work to well in the daylight hours...)

[/b] Rosalie positively beamed at her sister, as she complimented her and the way she dressed herself. She was pleased that at least Alice approved. "Thanks midget" she snickered jokingly at her sister,, she liked to annoy Alice about her height when she could,, ‘cause she didn’t get an opportunity very often. Not that Alice ever paid attention to her, no one paid attention to Rosalie when they could, she wasn’t hard to ignore to say the least not like Alice no one could ignore Alice. She smiled before again looking around the room, it would have been so much nicer if more people were here but sure it would pick up later, it was still very early considering that Alice had only really left the place for like an hour to get herself ready to come straight back to the school. Her eyes flickered to Alice as she twirled in a very elegant way around Bella who had obviously been her experiment for the evening. "Edward will love her anyway, she dose look pretty" she smiled at Alice and then at Bella. Edward would practically be drooling all over Bella all night, she looked amazing which did annoy Rosalie allot. Elegant, something that she wasn't sure Bella was capable off. But seemingly she was, and she did look good. Alice had really made a good job of Bella. Even Rosalie had to admit that Bella looked good, even if she didn't want to. It was a fact and even... Emmett would have most likely agreed. She grinned a friendly smile, as much as she could at Bella. Though it was still a slight grimace to the smile, she still couldn't understand the fact that Bella was prepared to give up everything to become a monster. It just made her cringe. She couldn't help it, she just felt weird around Bella when she wanted to become a vampire so much. "Esme?!?!" Rose exclaimed as she watched her mother wonder into the massive room. WOW, her mom even looked good tonight. Alice had worked wonders on all the family, she just wondered what all the guys would look like when the finally arrived. "Esme, you can hang around with us if you want you know" she stated, as her mother seemed to think she had to keep away from the family as she seemed to be keeping her distance from the kids. Truth be told she was pleased her mom was here for the evening. She was looking forward to being able to hang around together. She hadn't seen all her family together for a long time and she missed it. Even if she wasn't the most family style person. "Esme?" she spoke again, more clearly again hoping her mother would come and stand with them for a while at least. [/blockquote][/size]

Esme looked over to where Rosalie called to her. She smiled and lifted up the front of her dress and slowly made her way to her daughters. Bella was with them so she could admire all three of the girls. She was proud to be their mother. It was the best job she could ever have.
As she reached them she smiled even more. The girls were beautiful. "Did you call?" She asked Rosalie as she dropped her dress and clasped her hands in front of her. "I see all three of you look devine. I cannot wait to see the boys. I just Carlisle will be able to make it tonight." She looked over to the door to see a couple of students entering. "He is caught up at the hospital. There was a car accident half an hour ago and he was needed."

[x][x] I was afraid... because, for, well, obvious reasons, I can't stay with you. And I'm afraid that I'd like to stay with you, much more than I should. Oh lord. She felt her the warmth steal into the tops of her cheekbones, the pink quickly coloring the ivory skin, the light freckles disappearing behind it. She just had to be the first here, just had to be. It was just her luck after all. Rabid vampires chasing her, falling in love with one of the few good vampires, tripping over anything and everything in sight... so of course she'd make it to the most impossible minute of being at the party. She forced the smile to flow onto her lips, the tinges of white around the corners the only sign that it wasn't natural. But then again, Alice knew she would rather be elsewhere, and the fact that she was here at all illustrated how much she cared for the pixie looking creature. She held back the sigh that threatened to burst through her lips and looked around the room. It would never fail to surprise her at how adept Alice was at all the social functions and set ups. She felt her heel wobble a little as she came to a stop a few feet from Alice, her arms crossing slowly over her midsection as she glanced about the room. Her 'hey you,' was muttered in a distraced tone as she continued her observance, her lips picking up at the corners in a genuine smile as she looked back in appraisal at Alice. Of course she'd feel inadequete this evening next to such a beauty, but then she supposed that was only to be expected, especially considering Alice wouldn't be the only gorgeous vampire there.
The blush that had been coloring her face in a pale pink since she arrived broke into a full blown red, her eyes going to the floor as she shuffled around. "Thank you." Her eyes came back up with an abashed smile. "Of course not as gorgeous as my wonderfully awesome vampire counterpart, but what is to be expected from such a pixie creature?" Her lips pulled into a satisfied smile, her eyes roaming the room. "This is absolutely fabulous. As are you I supose. Stupid vampire." She muttered the last with a grin, her chocolate eyes sliding back to her. "Unless of course a certain friendly vampire has decided to help me join the ranks?" She couldn't help but throw the question in as she looked hopefully out from her lashes.
She stiffened as she heard the door open, her head turning just slightly to watch Rosalie's entrance. Great, that was all she needed. She felt her heart sink within her chest, her eyes going back to Alice as the blonde beauty approached them. She wasn't sure how she would deal with Rosalie this evening, ever since Italy, it was all she could do not to voice her opinions when Rosalie spoke. Being nice was never really fun, being shy even less so. And the awkwardness she and Rosalie shared with eachother went beyond all three. "Hello there," she replied easily, trying to ignore the small slight her words held. It was more than a backwards compliment but what could she say? She knew she wasn't any renowned beauty, it didn't help to have it thrown back at her though. "Thank you," she replied slightly stiff. "I suppose there's no use telling you how gorgeous you look today," she amended with a smile, her eyes going over her dress. "You really do look lovely, you and Alice put me to shame." She let a mock sigh fall from her painted lips, her eyes shining with a teasing sort of laughter.
She rolled her eyes skyward as Alice continued on with the compliments. "Really, and here I was thinking he'd love me regardless. But then, I'm not all knowing like you two." Her tongue darted out from her lips as she finished, in a very childish expression, but it adequetly summed everything up. She laughed slightly as she pivoted so she could face both of them at the same time. It really was rather annoying, being the odd one out all the time, but eventually she'd be one of them...and hopefully that eventually would be soon. She looked enviously upon the two of them, a genuine smile playing on her lips. She knew she wouldn't feel so lost when Edward arrived, unfortunately... he wasn't here. And even more unfortunately she hadn't seen him all day. Thanks to Charlie. And his rules. She felt her lips pull from their smile, her eyes going away from the pair. Sneaking out was no problem really. But she'd much rather do it openly. Not that she'd had any option today to do either. What with Charlie taking her truck keys, and Alice kidnapping her to get ready for this disaster. Her lips twitched at the thought, her eyes coming up as Rose started talking again.
Ah shit, she felt a twinge of guilt as she followed Rosalie's gaze. She'd missed Esme coming in for pouting. "Hey Esme," she responded quickly, her face lighting up in a smile. Divine was stretching it, but she'd be the last to argue with the woman in front of them. "And I'm wondering how these adolescents will keep their eyes off of you three." She felt another twinge of worry as she looked around for Edward. She really couldn't stand this distancing. Lately it was like she couldn't breath when he was missing, like a repeat of him leaving her, this time without a goodbye. Her heart stuttered within her chest as she forced herself back to the conversation. "Oh, I'm sorry Esme, I hope he makes it." A car accident? That would explain why Charlie had to leave earlier before she was on her way out. [/size][/blockquote]

Well, wasn’t this just perfect? Emmett had found himself preoccupied with other things, and now he was going to be late. He was sure he was going to be late. Well … really, there was no way he could show up too late. He really didn’t know why he was going to this thing, other than the fact that Rosalie was going to be there. He’d do anything to make her happy, even go to an event like this. Not to mention that Alice would probably never forgive him if he pulled a no-show. So, with much grumbling and groaning, Emmett had donned something a little less informal than usual. And now, here he was, present at this masquerade ball – or whatever it was.
The fact that the majority of his family was there with him made it all a little more worthwhile. There would have been absolutely no point in going, if he’d had to stick it out with nobody he could really interact with. He took in the other members of his family in their masquerade attire. Rosalie was stunning, as always, and even Bella seemed to look her best. He didn’t dwell on that thought, though. An angry Edward was not something he wanted to deal with any time soon, that was for sure. Everybody knew that he and Rosalie were the real deal, anyway. He’d have to be blind and foolish to look anywhere else. Blind as a bat and extremely foolish.
Emmett always felt a little out-of-place and standoffish at events like this. Maybe it was the fact that they were vampires and basically had to hold back, or maybe because people honestly seemed to be intimidated by him. They needn’t be – really. Emmett made his way over to Rosalie and the others, one arm moving to wrap around her waist. Nothing else mattered. She was here, he was here, and that was how it was supposed to be.
“Hope the party hasn’t started without me.” Emmett commented, grinning at the others. He was already planning some mocking remark to make to Bella, when he got around to it. She was really too much fun -- though he wasn't exactly willing to share that thought with Rosalie.

The small pixie couldn't help but snicker at Bella as her cheeks flushed obviously a deep crimson color as Rosalie and Alice seemed to be showering her with compliments. She didn't see why Bella found this all embarrassing,, Alice loved being complimented on any of her work even if it was something as simple as picking cloths out for the family. She scowled at Rosalie when she called Alice a midget,, as Alice raised her hand and gently,, well gently for a vampire punched her sisters shoulder. "Any time" her wind chime voice sounded out through the school hall,, though the hall still sounded empty,, it should be buzzing with people though there was still allot of people that were going to turn up later,, Alice had already foreseen this happening. "Your damn close to being as beautiful as me" she chimed. Though allot of the males at the school still wouldn't agree,, as they all seemed to drool after the vampire's if they could. Not that Alice wasn't found of the attention at all,, she loved it. But she only ever had eyes for Jasper.
Alice smile only grew wider,, as her lovely mother walked swiftly through the school hall doors. Everyone would look lovely tonight,, Alice just had a feeling about it something that she wasn't often wrong with. "Bella you look wonderful really,, i wouldn't make you look stupid ever" she stated in a more serious voice now. She didn't want anyone to think she would make them look stupid at something as important as this. Alice's eyes flickered up to Rosalie,, as curiosity filled her eyes. Rose was being nice? surely not. She hated Bella,, unless she was trying to make an effort as small as it was,, trying to be nice for as long as she could. Well at least Rosalie wasn't going to ruin the whole night,, Alice would never have forgiven her if she did that.
Alice frowned at Bella,, as she had managed to twist her and Rose's comments into meaning something else. It of course wasn't how Alice had meant any of it. All she'd meant was that Edward would have trouble sticking to his rules about physical contact and everything. "Bell's you know what i mean silly" as the frown completely disappeared from her face and was replaced with a huge grin. As she stuck her tongue out at Bella in return to what she had just done,, it was true they both could get incredibly childish at times. Alice couldn't deny she loved it,, someone else who she could be stupid with.
Alice twirled around as her mom for all intents and purpose's walked in through the doors,, Alice practically beamed with happiness. So most of the family was going to turn up tonight then. All they were waiting for was the guys,, of course they were going to be reluctant about coming here tonight. None of them really wanted to come,, but they would if they knew what was good for them. As Alice could be quite frightening at times,, and no one would dare cross her and go some where else tonight,, not when this meant so much to Alice no one would dare not turn up. She smiled at Esme not needing to say anything to her. As long as Alice greeted her she would be fine,, as after all it had been Alice who had asked Esme to help chaperone the ball,, though she had been expecting some others adults to turn up,, Carlisle for one,, maybe even Charlie... though she actually hoped he wouldn't turn up as Bella shouldn't have been here. As she was grounded from spending time with her boyfriend. Which really wasn't fair at all. "So there’s no chance that Charlie will turn up tonight?" she asked Bella.
Alice didn't want to have to keep her mind on looking for Charlie turning up at the school. It would all just ruin the enjoyment of the evening for her. She wasn't really paying attention to her visions at all at the moment,, all she wanted was for the evening to go smoothly. With out a hitch. At least that's what she hoped for,, though something always went wrong. It was inevitable.
"Rose..." she said before,, Emmett had even entered the building. Of course he didn't want to be here,, she was stupid to have thought other wise. His only incentive to come here tonight would have been Rosalie. That’s all he needed to know and he would have been there. "Hey" she spoke,, as she half snickered at her brother as he made his way across the room. "Be nice tonight please..." she said. As she knew how... hard it would be for him to keep his comments about people to himself. As he loved making rude... inappropriate... pointless jokes about everyone. It was just Emmett though and all the family had learned to live with that,, where as the other students turned up they may be less understanding of the bear like creature.
"So... any preference’s to music?" she smiled,, looking at Bella as she would know better about music than the rest of the family as she was more with the time that the rest of them.

[x][x] I was afraid... because, for, well, obvious reasons, I can't stay with you. And I'm afraid that I'd like to stay with you, much more than I should. Bella felt her nose wrinkle up at Alice's snickering, her eyebrows coming together behind her mask even as her lips stretched into a full on grin. It was... comforting, to know that Alice and she could have such an easy, even if she was slightly frenetic at times. It wasn't as if Bella didn't enjoy it just as much when she was. She watched the sibling bantering, a small smile covering her lips as she did so. It surprised her sometimes, at how human they could be in the midst of everything. But then, they had a habit of doing what she least expected it when she least expected it. Damn vampires. Though even the thought was tinged with an endearing note. It took only a second for the mood to shift, Bella's breath catching within the confines of her ribs. What was that supposed to mean? Damn close. Was she complimenting how she looked now...? Or was she saying that Edward was close to breaking down and giving in to what she wanted? Her eyes widened just a fraction, her lips stretching in a surprised shape, her thoughts whirring inside her head. Please, please be the second. She felt her breath hitch higher in her throat, the color that had earlier been tingeing her face washing out slowly to an even paler white. "Alice?" She couldn't help but phrase her name into a question, her eyes going to the others uncertainly, her hand fluttering around her midsection before going up to push a strand of hair back from the front of her mask.
Another shake of her head as she continued to watch the ever growing crowd of vampires around her. How was it that every time they were in a formal situation like this she was reminded of a horror film. It was a terribly good thing that she was with the so called monsters wasn't it? "Thank you," her voice fell out with a sincere note, her hand fluttering out to touch Alice's arm for a momentary second. She felt like giving her a hug, but seeing the situation, and the people around... Plus the blood she knew was coursing through her veins at a mile a minute due to everything going on. Her lips fell up in a half-hearted smile. "I trust you," she said again. "I'm sure I look somewhere close to looking decent or something like that." A chuckle escaped her vocal chords at the thought, her eyes shining beneath the mask. And she did trust Alice for the most part. When it came to dressing her however... Bella couldn't really help her aversion to clothes. Though she had to admit that she had been trying harder to dress somewhat nicer since she'd returned from Italy. She figured she owed at least that much to her future family.
Bella laughed easily at Alice's expression, her hair twirling around her face as she shook her head. "Of course I knew what you meant. Or are you set on taking all my fun from me this evening?" Another teasing note, her lips stretching in a grin as she let her eyes search the room again. Not that Alice would have to try at that if Edward wasn't here. And if he skipped this evening. She felt her eyebrows lower upon her eyes, the thought filling her with a mixture of both rage and worry. If he skipped this evening he'd better be prepared for her anger, and he'd better be prepared for the consequences that would come with that. Hmph. Her eyes fell back upon their little group, her expression lightening itself in response. And they'd accused her of not being a good actress, she'd fooled them all on some point or another... Hmph. Her lips stretched in a larger smile.
"Um..." Alice's question struck a nerve within Bella, her head snapping up in worry as she scanned the room. Well, at least he wasn't here yet. "Not that I'm aware of." Her words came out slowly, as if she were testing them on the room. She hoped he wouldn't show up, I mean.. He knew she was here... And he was resigned to it. But in the same... He'd probably blow up if he saw her and Edward together without his ever so watchful eyes. She felt her lips tip up in response to the thought, a giggle almost coming through her lips. It was a terribly good thing he didn't know about every night she spent with Edward. She shook her head slowly, her mind running over everything that she'd talked about with Charlie today. "I think he's dealing with that car accident Esme mentioned," she slowly stated again, her eyes going to Esme as she said it. "And then I think there's a game on tonight that he's refusing to miss." The last was said affectionately, her lips curving in a knowing smile. Charlie never missed a game, though if she were correct Billy wouldn't be there due to the recent erm... problems that had been going between the two families. "Plus I think one of his friends is coming over for the beer and pregame 'party'." Her smile went even further up, even if she couldn't remember the name of the friend it was. At least it wasn't Billy. At least there wasn't the chance of coming home and Jacob being there.
She felt her eyes inevitably roam back towards the door, her hands clenching upon her arms as she looked for Edward... again. But then it was what she did. Especially when thoughts of Jacob entered her head. Jacob, who she wasn't talking to. Jacob who had betrayed her and left her without her supposed best friend. Jacob who had gone and told Charlie about things he didn't need to hear. Jacob who had helped her through the hardest point of her life... and then abandoned her as soon as it had gotten better. Jacob who refused to try and patch things up like he should... even if she wasn't willing. Jacob who couldn't compare to Edward, she reminded herself slowly. But how could she not think about him when Edward wasn't with her? Even if it was only a momentary absence. Things like this didn't work for her. Things like this never turned in her favor. And that reminder only had her more antsy for Edward to show up.
Bella felt her lips stretch in a grin as she turned towards Emmett, he always managed to lighten the mood. "Hullo there." Her voice fell easily, masking the anxiety clouding her gaze. She was actually kind of looking forward to Emmett's craziness tonight. It would give her a sense of normality. Which completely threw her at just the thought. She felt her arms straighten themselves across her midsection, her hands clenching down upon them, white covering her knuckles as she forced herself to stay rooted to the spot.
Bella let a forced laugh fall from her lips. "You know me Alice... nothing too easy to dance too." Her right lid closed in a wink as she turned her attention to the smallest of them. [/size][/blockquote]

Tonight was the night. The fateful night of Alice's decorating, spending the night with Bella, dancing with her and much more. The ball was still hours away though, as there was still daylight outside. Alice demanded Edward and the guys out of the house though. Bella was to arrive soon and the last thing that Alice wanted was the end result revealed too early. If that was one thing Alice was totally against, it was that. Edward sighed and contemplated where he would go to spend the next few hours. He needed a tux, so technically, he could go out and find one of those. Oh, and the mask. Tonight's dance was no regular dance, it was a Masquerade Ball. Which meant everyone, or mostly everyone would have masks. Edward was no expert at shopping for anything, but he had seen Bella's dress before hand, so he knew what color scheme he would be able to go with. With that in mind, he grabbed the keys to his shiny silver volvo and moved swiftly to his car.
Off at the 90 miles an hour speed he normally drove at, Edward headed into Port Angeles to try to find something that might work for tonight. After visiting one or two dressy stores, he did find a tuxedo. It was a simple black tux with a silver vest that would just about match the color of Bella's dress. After trying it on, he decided to buy it and left with one more thing he needed for the night's festivities. Trying to find a mask would be a bit harder, but he went into an antique store and found a unique "phantom of the Opera" like mask. It wasn't a full mask, but he didn't seen any others he liked. The mask also had the a similar color scheme as his tux. So, he thought it would all come together in the end...hopefully.
Once everything was done and out of the way, Edward decided to head to the meadow. Stopping at the forest edge and leaving his stuff in the car, he ran through the forest and found a quiet spot not too far from the edge of the meadow. Agility in every step of the way, he moved quickly up a tree and found a branch large enough to support his body weight. Sitting down, he started to reflect on the past month's events. Jasper accidentally getting out of control, Edward leaving, hearing that Bella had supposedly died, all of it culminated to two things...Edward and Bella were both miserable and for that week or so, Edward wanted to commit suicide. He was ready to give his life because Bella had "died." Almost everyone was at the brink of frustration and emotional weariness and about ready to jump ship. The last few months were not something Edward had wanted to think about, but sometimes he had too. He had to remind himself just how much he truly loved Bella and just how much it hurt to be away from her. Being away also helped him see that...he wasn't such a great tracker. At that thought, he smirked some, but then sighed. Why he left, he truly had no idea, but he heavily regretted it.
He pushed his negative and depressing thoughts away though and focused on what was to come tonight. He pictured Bella and the dress, but he couldn't picture them together yet and he didn't want to until he was able to see her with all of her make-up and what not on. He didn't want to assume how she would look. It would ruin the whole affect of things. After laying quietly in the grass for a little bit, he soon got up easily and ran back to his car. He slowed down some once he was closer and was going to take him time. He didn't want to get back to the house too early, otherwise he'd be kicked out...again. So, he drove somewhat slower this time. What little light there was, it was starting to fade. He returned to the house at a decent time and had just enough time to get cleaned up and dressed before he was headed back to the school.
Knowing Alice, the school would be decorated in just the right way. She never went too overboard, but she always did just enough to create the right affect. Edward wouldn't know how it would turn out this time until he actually saw it. He wasn't going to worry about it though, that was the last thing he wanted to worry about. He was starting to become anxious. All he wanted to do was see Bella and spend the rest of his life with her. That was one simple request at least for the night. He soon arrived at the school and all thoughts washed away. With mask on and tux seemingly perfect, he stepped out of his car and noticed Bella's truck not too far away. She was here at least which was a good thing. Confidently, he walked in and saw Bella, Rose, Alice, and Emmett. No one else had come yet, which was a good thing.
At the sight of Bella, a large smile spread across his face. She was absolutely beautiful and Alice had picked out just the right dress, makeup and mask to make it all happen. Edward strode towards the large group of vampires and one human. Which reminded him of the constant begging of Bella wanting to be turned, but he wasn't going to do that to her. She deserved a better life than this horrible one and she deserved to stay human, that was one thing she contested. Edward smirked a little at the thought and then wrapped his arms around Bella's waist. Whispering in her ears, his luscious voice said, "You look beautiful, Bella. Alice did an amazing job with you. You look beautiful no matter what though." A smiled appeared across his face as he turned her around and get a better look at her. He lightly kissed her cheek and then greeted the others. "Alice you did wonderful with Bella and this room!" He took a good look around and decided that it was too fancy, it was just right. Looking towards Rose and Emmett, he simply gave them a greeting. "Hi Emmett...Rose." He didn't want to start anything between Rose and himself. So, he kept it simple. He returned his attention back to the group itself and added, "Hope I'm not too late for you all."

I was a fool for no one,, but ohh i'm a fool for you. You caught me under false pretenses How long before you let me go? __________________________________
[/b] Rosalie smile beamed even wider as she watched Emmett enter the room. She hadn't really expected him to turn up, well she had and she hadn't at the same time. She doubted he 'cause this really wasn't his thing, but then there was Alice... she was a completely annoying and unstoppable when it came to the party. And she had made all of her family turn up, now she was just waiting for everyone else. Or anyone that wasn't stupid enough not to turn up. As no doubt she would complain about it at school in a few days time. Rosalie grinned as she let herself fall into her husband’s arms. Well not fall, but she leaned against him. She didn't ever want to be away from him and really she was pleased he was here. At least now she wouldn't have to carry on being nice to Bella. "I didn't think you were going turn up Em" she whispered in the hope that Alice wouldn't hear. But inevitable she probably would have. "the party wouldn't be a party with out you there..." she snickered. Emmett always brought a sense of liveliness to any party ot function that he attended. Something that Alice couldn't bring with her liveliness. It was something unique. She rolled her eyes as she listened to the banter going on between Alice and Bella. Jeez we get it! Bella looks good. Alice didn't make her look like a fool. Had Bella even though about Charlie, did she want to be able to carry on seeing Edward or not? if Charlie by for some reason turned up here all the Cullen's would be in the shit for letting Bella stay. And Esme what would she be able to say to Charlie to be able to persuade her that it was OK for Bella to hang around with Edward for a night, when he actually saw fit to arrive. As it didn't look promising at the moment. There was a game tonight, and Emmett was missing it to come to dance thing. Alice really must have laid the threats on thick. She snickered to herself, someone had managed to persuade Emmett to come here, it was rather impressive. Alice wasn't half an annoying person at times but she always got things done her way. And they always happened exactly as she wanted them too. It was amazing how someone so small could be so influential all the time. Rosalie turned away from Bella as she started to talk to Emmett. Though she never left his arms, unless he wanted to pull away then she wouldn't stop him. As her attention turned back to Alice and Esme. "So how long are you staying tonight Esme? Carlisle going to show do you think?" she asked nicely. She didn't want to cause any arguments tonight. So she wasn't going to say anything against Bella at the moment, as the thought ran through her head Edward appeared and almost as quickly as he'd gotten to the door he was by Bella's side whispering to her. please! she thought to herself, hoping Edward wasn't really paying attention to peoples thought's tonight. Carlisle Cullen, had an unforgettable shine in his eyes. He had quickly made his way home from the hospital, and as he was leaving the night quickly revealed the end of a day. The air slowly made a light breeze through out the house with a whisper only he could distinguish, that certain sound when it went through those very windows at the front of his office. The cool night breeze sent a small shiver up his spine, he was still late for the ball. Though, not for long he hoped. He quickly made his way to get changed from his work attire, a blue shirt, with striped lilac tie. His clothes were quickly shed, and after a brief shower, his towel covered body was quickly replaced by an elegant, black tuxedo. Concealing his face was a small mask which matched in elegance. He immediately pulled himself to the mirror, and was surprised by the way he looked for a moment. His blonde hair, and pale complexion was made more obvious by the black tux, and mask. Carlisle was sure that they would know who he was, but then Alice had made him promise to come. He had agreed and there was no going back on his word, so he was going and that was the final word. He was genuinely looking forward to the Masquerade Ball. Though it was nearly two centuries ago, he had done the same thing. Over the years he had attended many of these balls, but this was different. Mostly because Alice had put a lot of work into it, and all of his family were going to be there. He was only saddened that he could not have arrived sooner, though his job did take precedence. Luckily the car crash victim was going to live, after a few weeks of a hospital stay, but they were lucky. The last Carlisle had heard Charlie was still trying to sort the whole thing out. Not the easiest of things to do. Carlisle pulled into the car park in his Mercedes S55 AMG. One of the luxury's of his life, the engine purred quietly as the lights flickered off and then total silence. The engine shut off, and he sat there for a minute thinking of the car accident victim. Though his thoughts were quickly pushed to the back of his mind. He carefully got out of the Mercedes, and locked up. He made his way, silently and quickly towards the school and into the building its self. He carefully and quietly, pushed the door open to the hall, as to try and sneak in unnoticed by anyone. A smile grazed his lips, which was the only part of his face visible from the mask, as he entered the small forks high school ballroom, stunned by the extravagant decorations which filled the hall. The place was dark and mysterious, as he searched through the people that were there. Tonight would truly be one to remember for many years to come, he thought to himself, though if Edward was there, maybe not totally to himself. He stood by a wall, looking through the faces as he kept the smile on his lips, and the shine in his eyes.
