Carlisle and Esme had taken a trip down to her little Island for some alone time, which Edward knew the two of them needed it. It also meant that himself, Emmett, Rosalie, Jasper and Alice had the house to themselves. Of course they’d all gotten their warnings about the house having to look the same when they returned as it did when they left. Yes they all appeared to be teenagers, but they were at least triple that in actual age, but Edward knew there was valid reasoning behind the warnings. The family was competitive and well that could turn into reckless situations, which has happened a few times in the past, they let little things get to them.
This had played over in his mind while he sat in the same spot for at least an hour, since he rarely took notice of a clock when he was home and had nothing that he had to attend to. The television was off like usual when he was in the room, the only sound being that of a soft melody, one that wouldn’t be recognized unless you’ve lived with Edward for a decade or three. He was at the piano for the better half of two hours he assumed, his fingers continuously playing a melody of whatever came to his mind. It was random rather then something he’d written down. Though however random it was at the moment, it wasn’t something new. Boredom of sorts always brought out the same melody and rarely a new one. The music helped him focus on what he was playing rather then those that intruded his mind or the other way around depending on which end of the mindreading you were on. He liked to give his siblings and parent figures privacy when he could, but he could barely offer them that.
When the tune came to an end Edward stood of the bench, which surprisingly never held the imprint he left on it, since he spent hours at a time at the instrument. Boredom wasn’t completely uncommon with him, but usually he found a way to amuse himself, but at the moment it wasn’t quite that easily done. It only took him seconds to move from the piano’s side to the large window in the living room where he stood with his hands in the pockets of his jeans as he watched the outside. To the human eye he knew they would see nothing, but Edward could see everything, every little detail, not something he would obsess over, it wasn’t anything knew to him. Without anymore of the music, Edward attempted to focus on something else rather then the other voices in his mind which let him know someone else was home.
His completely still frame would make him out to be statue like since he felt no need to move every now and again. Edward was in the confines of his house and therefore he was not obliged to make himself appear human, which was a relief, though slip ups with that happened with Bella, not that it mattered she knew his family’s secret already. The only thing that had moved on Edward since he came to stand at the window was his chest when he let out a soft sigh, though he was sure it was heard throughout the house. After that he went back to his completely still nature.

Alice sighed,, as she pulled another magazine from under the bed. She'd been there for the last few hours, just lying on her bed. Having nothing to do again, she found herself doing nothing a lot lately. Though she was always looking through her visions. Checking things out. As normal, she was basically told to that. She had to keep track of everyone especially the Volturi. Being a vampire was all well and good, but when you didn't sleep or anything it sometimes got a little boring. Alice was used to it now though, hence why some of her obsessions... no not obsession. Her talents for shopping came in handy it gave her something to do all the time. She was grateful for it.
She chucked the magazine back on the floor again, she’d tidy it up later, as she decided she'd already read it, which she had a lot of the magazine she had in her room, she liked to keep up with fashions and that was one way in which to do just that. She listened, instead, to the music that Edward was playing again down the stairs on his piano. Well Alice called it Edward's piano as he was better at playing it than anyone else she knew could. So it was his.
She jumped of the bed, again she didn't like being still. She hated it. Hence why she always looked like she was hyper or had had too much sugar in her diet, -she wished she had but she couldn’t stand human food. It just made her want to puke, unlike some of the other family members they could stomach human food no problem, she didn’t understand it really-. Which she hadn't obviously. Her diet consisted of the amazing and indescribable animal blood. She laughed as she flitted down the stairs. She sat on the bottom step for a few seconds being entirely silent she didn't want to make to much noise at all. She wasn't sure what Edward was doing or if he even wanted company. Though it wasn't as if you could get rid of Alice when she decided she wanted to talk to you.
She stood up slowly it was nice to have the house to themselves again, she stretched her legs though she didn’t need too. She could stand for hours and still not feel the need to move. She was totally fine with that though, when you were outside in the human world it got a little weird always having to make sure you were moving and breathing. Though Alice would never stop breathing it made her feel too uncomfortable. With out there parents at all. Just the kids. Well they classed themselves as children. And maybe Bella if she decided to drop by later on in the day or even the day after.
"Edward" she said as she crossed the room in a second. As she appeared next to Edward. She was so small next to him. She stood under five foot were as her brother was over six foot. Though she never really cared about her height when she was around people, her personality made up for her height loss.

Edward had been sitting at the piano for a few good hours, probably the longest he’d sat at it in a long while. But really there wasn’t much else for him to be doing at the moment, Bella being preoccupied with her whole house arrest thing and he wasn’t quite in the mood to read. But that didn’t mean that he wasn’t doing any sort of reading, Alice being a floor or two above him was leafing through a few magazines while he let constant tunes flow from his fingers at the keys of the instrument. But even though he loved to play music on the grand piano, he could really only sit there and play for so long before he grew tired of it. It took a while for Edward to grow bored of something; you learned how to deal with the time on your hands when it was impossible to fill it with sleep. He found after a while that you didn’t have to really do much of anything, at least in his case, all Edward had to do was move every several hours and switch the scenery in front of his eyes. That’s was what he’d done after leaving the piano, though ceasing the music made him aware of the silence that engulfed the house.
Silence though to Edward wasn’t quite the same as it was to everyone else he knew. He could be standing in the room, like now with no other sounds, no one speaking and yet nothing was silent for him. Alice as far as he could tell was in the house, and her always bouncing thoughts were mixed with his more straightforward and mellow thoughts. But he was use to the constant mind numbing chatter that went on in his mind so ignoring it came some what easy, at least easy enough for him to call the house silent. It was odd, at least for Edward, not to have Esme and Carlisle through the house not sure if it felt that way for anyone else. Edward figured he noticed it more because when everyone was off doing their own thing, leaving the place in silence, he always knew who was home, where in the house they were and what they were doing. He tried to ignore it most of the time, to give everyone their privacy when they needed it but it was a difficult task.
It hadn’t taken Edward long to cross the distance between where the piano lay to where he wanted to stand at he window. Then again at home, away from prying eyes, or with Bella, it never took Edward long to do anything. That was something he enjoyed about the vampire thing, the speed especially when you combined it with a car. He hadn’t had much time to enjoy the speed of a car when he was human for many reasons, though he doubted he would have enjoyed it as much as he did now. Standing there, hands in his pockets, Edward knew he wouldn’t be alone for much longer, could hear it in Alice’s thoughts as she tossed a magazine aside and made her way down the stairs. He’d welcome her company, though he always welcomed Alice’s company they got on exceptionally well. He’d have stayed stock still had he not heard her laugh ring throughout the house causing his lips to move upward into a smile as he awaited her to join him.
It didn’t take long before his short sister was standing at his side, barely making it to his shoulder; well actually he knew she didn’t come close to standing at his shoulder. He didn’t bring that up, her height, unless she was making the effort to annoying him but they picked on one another like that. “Alice” Edward said turning his head to looking down at her the smile still resting on his lips from before. “Grew tired of your magazines?” He asked her figuring the answer would have been a bit obvious but he asked anyway. Asking questions he knew answers to was a way to make him appear normal in a sense and made actual conversation.
