It had been a long time since Edward had done anything remotely human, but he found that Bella brought out those characteristics in him which he was perfectly fine with. He figured a couple of his family members, namely Emmett, would get a kick out of the way he was sitting on her couch doing so as imperfectly as he could, he’d seen enough human males sitting comfortably in his time so far to be able to mimic them. One side of his lips formed into his crooked grin when she grinned at him shortly before tossing herself onto the couch to join him, now he was completely content, though he always was when he was with Bella. Whether they were alone or in the company of other’s he always welcomed her company, though he was more partial to sharing time alone with her. There were no interruptions of sorts.
As she got herself comfortable Edward did the same, not that it was necessary but it was a force of habit and he was doing it more to make sure that she was comfortable. He turned his body towards her slightly, bringing his arm down to wrap around her shoulders lightly, applying just enough pressure so that she would feel it without him harming her. Though there was a blanket between them he could still feel the heat from her body, a now welcomed feeling. Edward had worked hard so that he could be able to be this close to her without worrying about a stray thought causing him to act on his instincts. But he’d over come that for the most part, he was able to ignore his vampire side, he needed her alive more then he yearned for her blood. He wasn’t sure how she found him comfortable like this, he was rock hard while she was completely soft, but there was no way he was going to complain about or question it, he was happy this way. All he really needed was Bella in his life and Edward would be more then happy, he’d be complete, she was perfection to him.
Edward himself could have sat completely still for the duration of the movie, but habit forbade him from doing so, he’d shift every now and again even if it was just the slightest movement. His eyes would flicker momentarily to the television screen before going back to watching Bella. The feeling of her fingers over his chest was something he’d expected by now and didn’t mind, but her small actions like that added a temptation to his control and he could only let it last for so long before he’d have to ruin her enjoyment, which he never liked doing but deemed it necessary. After a few minutes of her hand straying then going back to its spot, he gently took her hand in his paler one, softly placing a kiss on her knuckles before allowing her to play with his hand as she pleased while his other rubbed her arm slightly.

It had hadbeen coming, but that didn't stop the pout from appearing on Bella's face when Edward had taken her hand. She wished she had his self control, just for a little while. Even though she knew it wasn't simple for him to come out with such control, she was still jealous. If it were possible she would probably throw herself on him. It was something that, several monthes ago, Bella wouldn't have thought about doing to anyone. In fact, she probably would have laughed at even the thought. She'd never really believed she'd find her 'soulmate' or even someone who remotely had qualities she thought she might like. But, she had accepted it. However the moment she'd laid eyes on Edward, who at the time had been giving her a heated glare, she just knew that he was different. At the time she didn't understand just how different he was, nor did she know that he fasinaction would quickly develop into an obsession and then into love.
She squeezed his hand as all these random thoughts and memories floated through her head. Her face still held the slight pout, something she'd had a problem totally erasing. It couldn't be helped, she hated the fact that neither were allowed to do what the really wanted. She knew that Edward would gladly allow her to do some of those more romantic things to him... if he wasn't so worried about accidently killing her.
Bella knew that Edward has his reasons for wishing to keep her human. But truthfully, none of his reasons made a great impact on her. She couldn't quite get him to understand that an eternity with him was all she wanted out of life. Together, they could do anything. She could go to whatever schools and universities and whatever else as a vampire. He had, as had the rest of his familiy. She had no use for all of the human memories he wanted her to have. Everyday she grew older. She had no desire to ever reach her twenties, but if Edward was left at the helm she may very well reach her thirties or fourties. She fought against the sigh that wished to escape her as she settled further into Edward's chest.
She brought his hand to her and returned a the kiss he'd previously given her hand. She turned her eyes once again to the movie, noticing that it was just past half way over and she had honestly no clue what had been going on it in. Oh well, it mustn't have been that interesting anyway.

Edward did his best to allow Bella as much freedom with the physical romance but it never lasted as long as either of them would have liked. He didn’t have to see her face to know there was a pout; it always appeared when he prevent this sort of thing, even though he didn’t want to. Edward wished that he was in her position, that the control wasn’t so necessary, it didn’t seem fair, the temptation pulling him in both ways and he had to be the mediator. Before Bella Edward had been completely alone in this sense, and he’d been happy with that, there wasn’t a reason for him not to be. A few in his family worried but he was fine with it, but had he known what was waiting for him in Forks, Edward would waited in the little town for decades for her, even if they didn’t start out on the best of terms. If he only knew that he didn’t have to be rude to keep her alive, he wouldn’t have wasted that much time. Though his opinion on the amazing girl lying beside him quickly changed and now she was everything to him.
Feeling her squeeze his hand Edward pulled his eyes form where he’d been watching the television for a moment and looked down at Bella. There was a look of curiosity on features, one that was always present when he was wondering what she was thinking. “I’m sorry Bella.” he said looking down at her as the pout remained on her lips. The fact that he had to deny himself what he wanted was bad enough, but having to deny Bella as well was even worse. Edward would love to give her all she wanted, but certain things were just too dangerous and he couldn’t risk losing her.
Edward knew seeing it from Bella’s point of view that he didn’t have any real solid reasons for wanting to keep her alive. Doing so meant that he constantly had to watch the way he handled her, even in the smallest ways. Really Edward should have been the one that was begging her to let him change her but he wasn’t, Edward would rather trade his immortality to become human once again and live his life with her. Sure she was in danger being human like he wanted, but he also wanted her to know what she was giving up. Her family was the main thing but there were so much that he couldn’t give her with this sort of life. But Edward would change her he knew that, losing her wasn’t an option. He’d had a glimpse of a world without Bella after having her and it was bleak, pointless unbearable and he couldn’t do it. he barely survived the last time.
Feeling her move closer to his chest a content smile settled onto his lips, he would have pulled her closer to him if he didn’t fear he’d break something. Moving just slightly, Edward put himself closer to her. Like usual Bella had completely grabbed his attention by the midpoint in the movie. Though he’d done it many times over, Edward could just sit and watch her, marvel in her which was what he was doing now, as his took in the sound coming from the movie.

Bella knew that really, she should accept any part of Edward he had to give. The rules he tried so had to stick to in their relationship she should allow him without hassle. But, in the end she knew that she was a selfish person. She knew she didn't deserve the vampire that lay beside her. There was no good reason why he was still there or any that he'd returned for after leaving. Every night she laid down to sleep and Edward was there beside her, holding her through her thick blankets and watching over her as she slept, she thanked whatever deity allowed him to live and be there with her. Why he loved her, she didn't think she'd ever quite grasp. With women like Rosalie and Alice constantly surrounding him it was a wonder that he'd ever even taken a glance at her. But then, her scent was so overpowering that he;d had no choice, did he? But he could have simply taken her and enjoyed the meal with little thought to her safety. But then again, that wasn't anything like any of the Cullen's. Edward probably just should have moved back to Denali and stayed there.
However, he had not. He chose to be here in Forks with her. Chose to return to her after leaving and having the chance to be rid of her forever and live eternity in peace. She looked up to his perfect face as his apology slipped from his lips. She couldn't help the smile that came to her. When her name fell from his perfect mouth she just wanted to kiss him. He unfortunatly, knew just how to say things to her in a way that made her forget any aggrivation slight though it may have been.
Bella shrugged her shoulders somewhat, feeling him reposition himself so that more of their bodies actually touched. She too, moved herself so that she could mold her body to his. It was a great feeling, being so close to the person you so desprately loved.
"I know." She really couldn't apologise as she wasn't at all sorry, but she at least understood. For now, anyway. Soon she knew things would have to change. She was graduating high school soon and the days seemed to be flying by. She knew she would push him to turn her or at least, allow Carlisle to turn her. Then she'd be free to do whatever she wished with Edward with consequences be damned.

Honestly Edward would love to throw the rules aside that he’s created for himself, to give in to what he really wanted. But he wasn’t sure at one point which side would win in the struggle and he couldn’t let the wrong side lose control so he had to stick to the rules. Edward had not expect for him to be sitting here with her now, after what he’d done to her last year. Yet she risked her life to save him from falling out of existence, even though it condemned her to this life. Edward hadn’t expected her to take him back, not without some serious begging on his part. He had expected her to walk away from him and never look back, he’d deserved that deserved more then that but he was glad that she appeared to forgive him. Edward wasn’t sure what he had done from the moment they touched in Italy and when the plane touched down in America once to make her forgive him, he hadn’t even done that yet and it was a few months later. He wasn’t going to complain or question her on that subject, she’d taken him back, not something he decided he’d deserved but was glad she didn’t see it that way. Leaving had been a stupid idea, it hadn’t benefited Bella like he’d thought it would and well Edward wasn’t sure what he was suppose to have gotten out of time away from her.
He knew that he wasn’t strong enough to stay away from her like he’d told himself he could have by leaving. There wasn’t anyone else for him, she was everything he had needed and more then he deserved so really it was only a matter of time before he returned to her ready to beg her forgiveness. Edward was already looking down at her when she looked up as his words slipped from his mouth, a simple little apology that wouldn’t be completely understood by anyone but Bella. He was glad to see that the pout had left her lips to replaced with a smile, one which caused the one corner of his lips to pull upwards as he looked at her.
Edward felt her shrug her shoulders as he moved a little closer to her, though he knew that it bothered her that there were certain rules, it bothered him. But he was glad that she dealt with it so well, that made it just a little easier to have to push her away from a kiss or make her hands still, if only a little. He felt her adjust to his position making them closer then before, he was completely at ease, though it was usually like that with Bella, at least when she wasn’t in any sort of peril. When she spoke he gave her a fuller smile, she was so understanding with this something he was sure that was unique to only her. The patience she held with him was uncanny. Deciding that it couldn’t hurt, he slipped a curled finger beneath her chin letting her hand drop from his onto his chest again, tilting her head upwards just slightly towards him knowing that he’d meet no resistance, she would know what was coming next. Carefully as not to hurt her he placed his lips on hers for a moment or two before pulling himself away, not wanting her to get too excited. Edward also didn't want to use up all of his control this early. He wasn’t sure if his control would be anything like this when she got her way and became a vampire, but he was still attempting to push that off a bit though he seemed to be meeting resistance with most of those that knew of what she wanted.

Bella breathed him in as Edward leaned down to let his lips press against hers. He was careful with her, as usual. She'd be glad to see the day where he didn't have to restrain himself from her. When she could grab him and tug on him and he had no choice but to do what she wished. Not that he'd deny her much now, but having the strength to back herself up would be very exciting. It was moments like these when she couldn't wait until high school ended and she could finally have her wish. To be with Edward for the rest of eternity. To have everlasting life and beauty and the ability to keep herself and thse she loved alive and safe. It'd be a dream come true. Hell, just being able to keep Edward would be enough of a dream. However, not having to keep him constantly worried and on guard would be a definate plus. It would be wonderful when she felt like she could protect herself from everything that was out there to get her. And, of course, have wounds heal ten times faster than normal. Hopefully when she was turned she gain some of the grace she saw in Esme, Alice and Rosalie. But with her luck, she'd be the only clumsy vampire ever. Oh well, she'd still have Edward to pick her back up.
He broke this kiss as she knew he would. He'd heard her heartbeat pick up and had ended it before her excitment got the best of her. He was sometimes to good with everything he noticed about her. But, it was something she'd expected and thus she didn't give him any lip about it. At least she'd gotten a kiss, something she relished coming from him. She smiled lopsidedly up at him again, knowing she had the look of a lovestruck little girl but she didn't care. Sure, she was lovestruck. But few could say that they were actually in love and had that love returned to them. Oh she counted herself very very lucky in that aspect.
The movie still had at least a half an hour of playing time. So, Bella settled her head onto her lover's stone hard chest. Damn, the movie was nearly past the climax and running towards a decently happy ending. She couldn't tell you the first thing about what was going on it in, either. Oh well. She kept her hand steady, but resting still on Edward's chest. She'd finish out the movie calmly but comfortably.

Edward heard her little intake of air as he leaned himself closer to her, her scent filling his long dead lungs as he pressed his lips carefully to hers. He easily pushed aside any of his natural instincts, her safety and what she wanted was worth more then anything any part of him could ever want. Edward wanted to be able to hold Bella in his arms and not have to treat her as if she were a soap bubble, he wanted to be able to show her how much he loved her instead of having to find words that would describe it. But Edward did not want to destroy her soul, even if he wasn’t what you would call religious in any sense of the word. It was probably an odd concept anyway, a vampire who has any sort of religious views. But Edward knew that Bella wouldn’t hesitate to ask any of his family members, Alice already agreeing to it back in Italy and Carlisle would do it as well. Besides the fact that she would become a vampire, or monster as many of them saw it seemed to be the only downside but it was a very large downside in Edward’s eyes. Of course the plus sides could be enough to push him towards changing her immediately but there were risks involved in just that alone, he could accidently slip and kill her, not something that he could bare to even think about. Edward still had time though before it happened; time to weigh the pros and cons.
Edward had been listening for one of the sounds that he loved about Bella, the increase in her heart beat. It was one of the few things that allowed him to know what she was thinking so he’d learned to pay close attention. The sudden pick up in her heart rate meant that it was time for him to pull back, not because he wanted to but because he didn’t want to get her to get to attached and him having to pull her away from that. Looking down at her, seeing the smile that was on her face Edward could see that she was happy, that though alone would cause the soft smile on his lips to form. The fact that she still managed to love him after all that he’d put her thought amazed him, glad that she’d never stopped loving him like his love for her was unchanging.
The movie was nearly over and well Edward couldn’t quite remember seeing it get to this point, but that didn’t matter, the movie was insignificant compared to Bella. Feeling her head and her still hand on his chest once again Edward moved his hand from her arm allowing it to drape softly over her waist. Edward could probably give you the story line to the movie, but that would most likely be all he got from the movie. Edward knew the only reason he really noticed things aside from Bella when they were together was because of the vampire thing. Were he human at this point in time he figured he’d be clueless but it wouldn’t have bothered him.

Apparently the end of the movie just hadn't been at all interesting because when Bella snapped open her eyes, the movie was no longer playing. She glanced up at Edward, knowing he couldn't possibly be asleep. Vampire didn't sleep. Idly she thought perhaps she'd ask them if they didn't sleep because they physcially couldn't or if they just didn't need to. How could one just not rest? Edward grew tired, albeit no where near the pace at which humans did, but he did need to rest didn't he? True, rest wasn't the same as sleep. But... She shook her head somewhat to stop her brain from rambling on. She'd ask him sometime but not right now. It just didn't seem at that important of a question. Actually, after looking up at him she really couldn't pick out an important question. So instead, she just grinned up at him.
"Sorry I dozed off. You could've turned the cable on, at least." she said, shifting her weight somewhat. Unfortunatly due to the fact that Edward's body was very much like stone, when she leaned on him for long periods of time her limbs tended to fall asleep.
Bella glanced at the clock. It was nearly quitting time for Charlie. That was a thought that branded mixed emotions. She loved her father but he had a distinct dislike for Edward. Not that she could blame him, really. But at least he was trying to adapt to their relationship once again, though not happily at any rate. So, when Charlie got home seeing Edward's car would probably put him in a sour mood and Edward would most likely be on his way. At least until later that night. Bella enjoyed time with her father but any time away from Edward was excruciating.

During the ending of the movie Edward had heard Bella enter a sleeping state, her breathing and heart rate had slowed to a restful state. The movie had ended a little while ago but Edward had felt no need whatsoever to move, not wanting to disturb Bella while she caught some sleep. He himself didn’t need to sleep, or well he couldn’t even if he wanted too. He’d tested the theory once, but after about an hour gave up on the whole idea. It was barely anything he thought about unless he was with Bella; he enjoyed just watching over her, listening to her as she slept, it was a calming thing for him when she wasn’t having a restless night or one filled with nightmares. At times if she were to wake, she’d see him there looking as if he were asleep, eyes closed and lounging the best way that a vampire could do. It was rare that he rested himself to any degree, not feeling much of a need, not that it crossed his mind too often anyway. Having been glancing at the window for a couple minutes, he turned his head down to look at her when she shook her head a little and smiled down at her as she grinned.
“Its fine” Edward told her when she apologized for falling asleep, he would have allowed her to sleep for longer if she wanted, not liking to disrupt her human habits. “I didn’t want to disturb you, you looked too comfortable.” he said, though wasn’t sure how she managed to get comfortable, his body was like granite. When she adjusted herself he moved slightly to allow her more room if she wanted it, but not moving far from her.
As her eyes darted o the clock, Edward’s did the same. He let out a soft sigh and looked back at her. Her father was due home soon which meant that Edward wasn’t permitted to be here. Technically he probably shouldn’t be here now but he would worry about that later. Charlie and himself were still on rocky terms, well more so Charlie then Edward. But it wasn’t like Edward blamed him, he had watched his daughter through a rough time a few months ago at Edward’s hands so it was only natural Charlie wouldn’t want Edward around. He would dread the time in which he’d have to be away from Bella, even if it was a short period of time before he could come back. It seemed time dragged on during those hours and he became impatient but respected her father’s wishes for the most part anyway.
