Bella gripped her truck's steering wheel, unaware that her knuckles were turning while at the force she was exerting. She knew Edward was going to be angry about this, but she just couldn't help it. She had to talk to Jacob and not through those stupid notes. Notes that he wouldn't even answer anymore, so it was a moot point anyway. She pressed the gas pedal down a bit harder, knowing that if she were to slow at this Edward or Alice would be there, quick to stop her before she reached the La Push lines. Her grip on the wheel didn't loosen until she began seeing the familiar houses of La Push and she knew that no one would be coming to fetch her back.
Bella exhaled a sigh, pulling up to Jacob's home. She sat in her truck, the vehicle idling loudly as she stared hard at the home. She finally released her grip on the wheel, her hands aching slightly now that she'd finally released the tension. She stared just a moment or two longer, wishing someone would come out to greet her. Or at least someone come out to even acknowledge her presense. It was difficult to ignore the sound her truck made. Not difficult, impossible. Her anger was returning as she realised no one was going to jump out to her. She'd have to take herself up there and just tell Jacob exactly what she thought of him and of the stupidity going on between him and the Cullens. Him and Edward.
She flung open the truck door and slid out, slamming it to hard behind her. Bella's dark eyes were narrowed as she took long strides towards the Black home and brought her fist up to pound on the door. God help whoever answered it should it not be Jacob.

It had truly been a while since he had verbally spoken to the vampire loving human known to him as Bella Swan. They had been at odds for a while now, mostly since Edward Cullen had returned with rest of the bloodsuckers. Jacob hated it, Bella was finally getting over Cullen and everything was working out fine! She even accepted the fact that Jake had turned into a werewolf, life couldn't have been better for him, until the girl jumped off a cliff.
He hated to think about that day, he had promised to take her cliff jumping, but couldn't Sam ordered him on patrol. Sometimes he wondered what would of happened if he had just taken her anyway, said screw the rules and taken her cliff jumping, maybe then they would still be together, and Cullen might never be back in the picture.
He had just been thinking about that when Bella drove up, he heard the sound of the roaring engine as it came down the road. He paused for a moment in the garage listening to her get out and start ramming on doors, a small smirk appeared on his face, but he kept working. Bells was really here, wanting to see him!
Finally he could tell she was annoyed, so he put down the wrench and wandered away from the garage to see her fuming on his doorstep, Billy wasn't home so there was no one to answer even if they wanted too. "Bella." He said cautiously, "What do you want?" His tone was sombre, but protective. He wasn't about to go all mushy on her just because she was here, knowing her she could have some ulterior motive to coming to see him, that just meant her leaving again. He wasn't going to fall for it, in fact all he wanted right now was to pick her up and not let her down, but he was going to wait until she explained herself.

Whirling around, only to be met with a somber looking Jacob Black, Bella narrowed her eyes. He didn't seem at all glad to see her and his voice was anything but promising. Did he not miss her at all? She pushed such thoughts out of her mind. It didn't matter, anyway. She was here to let him know exactly how she felt about everything. Looking at him though, she suddenly wasn't sure if she wanted to hug him or slap him. The look spread across his face wasn't anything like her Jacob. This person before her wasn't the person she wanted to see at all. He was a man that was going to give her hell and not see her point of view at all. She was going to try, though. Try her damnedest.
Bella dropped her hands to her sides, feeling akward standing in front of Jacob like this. It wasn't a feeling she liked at all. However, she looked up at the much taller young man, her chin stuck out in a defiant sort of way.
"Since you refuse to come see me, or even talk to me for that matter. I decided I'd come see you. Is that so much to want? To see a friend?" She asked, her voice rough. She wasn't going to start out being nice. He hadn't. She wasn't going to give him an inch. Bella had come with the intention of giving her opinions, since he'd made his so well known without giving her even a centimeter in edgewise.

He watched the girl closely as she stood there looking rather out of place. This was not a normal thing for her, but then again this attitude wasn’t normal for him either when it came to Bella. He had always been one to be soft hearted around her, that was at least until he changed. Even then it killed him to avoid her, and finally confessed to the game and made her realise what he was. In turn she was very open about the idea, after calling him a murderer, but that as a small miscommunication he had been willing to over look, but the one thing that he could not over look was the fact that after nearly a year without the bloodsucker, she just waltzes right back into his arms the minute he tries to kill himself, if that is even possible.. .the idiots already dead!
Jacob was hurt, case closed, and the whole pack could testify to that one, having to share a brain after all, tended to get annoying for all of them when emotions took a turn. “I never refused to see you Bells. You know that.” He was stern when he spoke and that was intentional. She knew full well that he didn’t refuse to see her, he refused to see her when she was still associating with bloodsuckers. All he wanted was for it to go back to the way that it used to be, before Cullen came back. More than anything he just wanted to run at her and wrap his arms around her and never let her go, never let her go back to Forks, back to him.
“And don’t even assume that I don’t want to see you, you are more important to me than anything Bella..” okay so that was a bit of a mushy moment but couldn’t help it, here his dream girl was, standing in front of him and all he could do was be mad at her? He had every right to be but he was getting sick of it.
“Bells,” he said through a sigh, his whole visage lightening up and becoming soft as he used to be around her. “ You don’t have to stand up there all day you know.” He said a small smirk taking his lips realising neither of them had moved an inch since she arrived.

The nickname and the change in his facial features caused Bella to visablely become less tense. Her face however, didn't change much. She was still aggrivated. She still couldn't wrap her mind around how two men could love her so and still be so hateful towards eachother, Jacob especially. Sure, Edward didn't care for him at all but at least he could suck it up for a moment or two. Jacob had nothing but nastiness for her Edward. It was ridiculous, in Bella's opinion.
Bella stepped down now off of the Black's front stoop. She didn't walk straight up to Jacob, however. She stood a few feet away from him, rubbing her arm slightly as she moved slowly. She had come with the intention of brutally giving Jacob a peice of her mind. She didn't believe what he told her, that he didn't not want to see her. What was it called when you avoided you best friend? Certainly not that you were dying to socialize with them.
"Look Jake." Bella let out a sigh, her face finally losing the gruff apperance that she was trying so hard to keep up. She just couldn't do it when her Jake came peeking through in the new Jake's face. The smirk wasn't the same, not at all. But it was close. It made the anger drain from her, at least for now. Until he said something to set her off, which was probably coming soon.
"I came because you won't come see me. I miss seeing you, spending time with you." She looked away from her friend, rubbing her arm again. "I love you like a brother, Jake. I can't stand this wall that's come between us..."

Jacob moved closer towards her following suit as she moved away from the door. He was now close enough to grasp her in his arms if that feeling so provoked him, however right now he was just to unimpressed with her to bother thinking of anything simular to that.
As she spoke, he listened thoroughly making sure to listen and interpret her emotions as well as speach clearly, he didn’t want this to escalate to anything far more than it already had become. More than anything else, he just wanted to wash the last few months away. He felt bad that he got Bella grounded two times over, but Charlie had to know about the motorcycles, and he was more than happy to let Charlie see them.
So there relationship hadn’t been the best over the last while, Jake was willing to make it all go away as long as Cullen went with it. But he knew that wasn’t going to happen any time soon. So rather than argue and push her away when she came to see him, he thought it might be better to put a spin on the mood.
Though he cringed when she said that she loved him like a brother, he knew she was just fooling herself and decided to move past it. “I miss you too.” He said with a sigh extending an arm and flung it over her shoulder pullling her closer into a side ways hug. “So, are you going to run away now that you said that? Or can we actually hang out?” he raised his eyebrows his smirk turning into a playful grin hoping that she would reconsider.
He knew there would probably be hell to pay with the leach when she went home, but he honestly didn’t care, the leach was the least of his concerns, he was devoted to Bella, and nothing else.

Though anger was still apparent in her face, Bella seemed to visably lighten. Her Jacob was returning, at least somewhat, to inhabit the form of the current Jacob. She was stiff when he threw his arm about her shoulders, not wanting this to go anywhere more than it should. Bella was all to aware of Jacob's feelings for her and she had no intention of giving him any ideas. She knew who she was in love with and unfortunatly for Jacob, it wasn't him. She loved Jacob, but without Edward her world would close up around her. There would be no Bella without Edward and some day soon, Jacob would have to accept that. Bella let out a sigh, pushing some hair from her face as she slowly began to relax under Jacob's touch.
"No, I'm not going to run away," She grumbled at him, pushing out of his grasp and pushing him slightly. Her touch was playful though, rather than attempting at brutal. She couldn't hurt him if she tried, anyway so why bother? She stood, crossing her arms and tried to bring a smirk to her own face. It wasn't difficult to conjure one, especially when Jacob's mood had taken a turn for the better instead of the assinine.
"I'd actually kinda like to hang out, it's been way to long you know." Bella said pointedly. Jacob had been ignoring her calls and sending her notes back for a few weeks now and hadn't even bothered with a phone call of, 'how're you?'

“Good, cause you know, I wouldn’t have let you go anyway..” he said with his signature light hearted smirk appearing on his face as he carefully nudged her shoulder with a palm rather than a fist. He thought a fist might bring more force than he intentionally ment to push her direction, so better off safe than looking like a freak. “Come on then, I just gotta put this rag back in the garage. Oh Bells, you will love this!” he practically picked her up now full of excitement as he carried her over the garage putting her down looking thrilled to pieces with himself as he turned on the light to the garage. His Rabbit was completly finished, but she had seen that already, right now he had been helping Quil on a car, and he had been so proud of it because he completly rebuilt the whole engine. Not that Bella would really care, but this to him was a HUGE accomplishment, he was even thinking maybe local mechanic part time and werewolf fulltime? It was hard to say right now but the possibility wsa there now. He only assumed that unlike the Bells he knew, this Bella, Edward’s Bella, did not like spending all day in a garage listening to him go on about cars though, so he quickly threw the rag aside and shut off the light before really saying much about what he had done, why would she care? She had her ‘whole life ‘ back now after all. “Bella.” He called her flatly waiting for her to catch up, they were headed to First Beach, it was pretty close to him, and it was a nice place to walk along he thought, they had done it millions of times before, but this time i was different. He had to talk to her, about Edward, about the conversation he and Edward had that was sure Edward hadn’t meantioned to her.

She couldn't help the smile that came to her face as Jacon informed her just how he thought it would be should she have denied him her company. She bit her tounge, deciding that a stupid remark would be just that- stupid. Before she really had time to do much else though, Jake's eye's lit up and suddenly she was in his arms. A laugh, and all her breath, escaped her as Jacob hauled her to the garage and flicked the light on to show her not only the finished Rabbit, but another vehicle with his hood up and a great deal of shiny and perfect looking parts in the engine cavity.
"Oh Jake!" She exclaimed, once the wind was back in her lungs. She could tell it was something he'd put a lot of time into, the rest of the car didn't look in to great of shape- yet. Working from the inside out was just what you did, she'd noticed. However, she didn't havce a chance to say much more. Jacob was quick to flick off the light without much more than simply a quick show of his latest creativity. Bella's face dropped slightly. Typically Jacob really enjoyed the times that the two of them spent in the garage. Bella had grown fond of it as well, not having to do much but talk, listen and fetch random tools that she didn't know the uses of. She missed the good ol' days between her and Jake and wished things could just go back to being like that...
He spoke her name in a flat tone, his excitment all but gone. Suddenly she wondered if staying in La Push was really the best of ideas. Jacob was so akwardly moody. Happy one moment and seemingly near dejection at the next. She didn't know how much of that she could deal with and breeching the subject wasn't something that she felt would end in a promising sort of way.
So, instead of complaining like she felt she probably should have, she took a step away from the garage and towards him. The direction that he was wandering was towards First Beach. They'd spent a lot of time there as well. Perhaps the day wasn't in the dirt yet. "Oh I'm coming!" She said, almost exasperated as she quickly caught up with him. She knew he could leave her in the dust with ease and idly that annoyed her.
How come it seemed that everyone she knew was just so much better than her? And it wasn't even that that thought they were better. They were all so humble about it! It was very nearly maddening. But, as that at least wasn't Jacob's fault she wouldn't whine about it. There was only so much her had control over.

He laughed slightly as the girl rushed over to him on the beach. It was just like old times, or at least for a moment, until she decided that Jake wasn’t good enough anymore and that the bloodsucker would always have her heart... no her soul. That seemed to be the word Bella used for everything Cullen related lately, being that beating hearts apparently werent nessisary to hold ones love. That thought totally warped his mind everytime, to love something dead... he would never be able to do it. He prayed Bells would just get over this and come back to him.
“Took you long enough.” He said jokingly as he started towards a log that was positioned well enough along the shore that it was commonly used as a bench. With that he placed his warm body down and sat there not bothering to watch what Bella did at that particular moment, he just started dwelling on the past.
He could remember a few of the times that the two of them spent together on that beach when it was just him and her, no Cullen in the picture. It was the time of Jakes life. They were in the garage all day long working on the motorcycles, or talking about the Rabbit, or Quil’s car... She fit in with his friends so good back then, everyone loved her. They would run from the garage to the beach in the pouring rain and run across the sand just because they could. Bella was actually happy when they were together. Yes, Cullen was probably always on her mind, that was evident now, but he still loved those memories. For a few moments in their lives, Bella was Jake’s, not Edward Cullen’s. Yeah, she never admitted her feelings for him, but he could tell by the things she said and the way she acted around him that despite trying to hide it, she did love him too. Even now, when their lives had travelled so many miles apart, she came back... For him. He glanced over at the girl, his hazel eyes scanning over her reddy brown hair, her own hazel eyes, though disconnected were still as beautiful as ever. She looked healthy, not like the vampire she was dating, which pleased him- at least that much stayed with her since she and Jacob stopped speaking. It had taken him alot of work to get her looking human again after the incident with Cullen a year prior.
“Isn’t this just great Bells?” he shot his signature smile towards her, that was the true smile of her Jacob, though he couldn’t really tell any difference between the two as she had seperated him by. He was Jake, Jacob Black, the one and only and despite her referances to her Jacob and him... well he was just confused by it, but to know deep down that she had claimed part of him, if only mentally, and rarely spoke it to him straight out, he was pleased.

Bella had shaken her head at Jacob for his witty reprimand. So cocky. She decided to let it go with just a smirk though. She let a lot of things go with Jacob these days. She was just tired of being at odds with it. It was so much nicer when he was smiling or laughing. When they were talking about something normal. No chat of rouge vampires out to kill her, her taste in men or how pale or furry some of her friends tended to be. Just every day things. Unfortunatly for both of them, their everyday lives were anything but normal. At least Bella still had a normal family at any rate. Well, she had a divorced parents but anymore that in itself was typical. Her mom was eccentric and her father was a police chief. But they were normal in the sense of if they'd heard anything about vampires or werewolves, they'd attune it to far to much television. Where as Bella would take it far more seriously. Jacob however, lived his whole life in a state of abnormalcy. All of his close friends and family either had a deep connection with wolves or actually were wolves.
She kicked at the log Jacob had taken a seat on. Before, she probably would have plopped down right beside him. But these days, she was trying not to give Jacob any indication that he had... well, a chance. She loved Jacob but she was in love with Edward. She hated the fact that Jake couldn't fathom that. He was free to think whatever he wanted to think to terms of what he thought was good for her. His opinions were his own. However the direct interfering with her life had to go and really, she had to stop egging him on. It was her own fault that he'd grown so fond of her. Hell, she was nearly as fond of him. But she never leave Edward for Jacob. Ever. She'd give her life for either man, but she'd give her soul for Edward.
She was pulled from her musings by Jacob's words. She smiled, pushing all the thoughts of Edward vs Jacob to the back of her head for the moment.
"Yeah, it is. It's been a while since I've been out to First Beach." She said idly, glancing out over the waves. The last real memory she had of First Beach she'd actually taken a plunge from the high cliff... and seen a flash of fire in the distance that she later realised had been Victoria, hot in her trail.

He smiled simply at Bella, things were so simple, so calm, so perfect when she was around, like he never wanted it to end. And in all honesty he didn’t. Bella was the only thing in his life he had sworn to protect. She was everything to him and whether she admitted it or not, he could tell she felt the same.
“Yeah, it has been a while hasn’t it? You should come by more.” His smile went crooked as he pointed that observation out to her. “We miss you out here.” And he knew the rest of the pack missed her too, if only just to make Jacob shut up and stop mopping, but that wasn’t the point. Sam still hated her with a passion but realised that she was all Jake cared about these days, Leah was getting sick of dreaming about Bella, and she had made that known.
“You know, I don’t bite...”he said noting the hesitation in sitting down on the log, and kicking it to state her point. “Bells, honey, I get it okay, just sit down for a bit.” He said rolling his eyes, he knew he wasn’t going to be able to sit there for much longer anyway or he would fall asleep. He hadn’t really slept much.
