Edward returned Carlisle’s smile, he didn’t think there would be anything he could hold against Carlisle. “Don’t’ mention” he said, the smile still resting on his lips. He knew Carlisle well enough to know that had there been a less painful route he would have taken it. “Thank you.” he said, “I’m glad I did too” Edward added. He knew that he’d changed after meeting Bella, good changes though hard to get use to at the time but actually something he wouldn’t want to go without again. Moving had never really bothered Edward not attaching himself to anything in most of the places they lived. Moving from Forks though, Edward wasn’t sure how he would do with that, especially if he would have to leave Bella for any reason. Edward knew she would protest, as he would since they knew that being apart was not something in which they could do.
He nodded, “Hopefully he’ll work up some nerve to come in without an injury and just strike up a conversation with Emma” Edward said, it would make more sense to him, then again he knew first hand that humans didn’t always see the most simple solution with things, which seemed to be the case with this regular guy. It was odd if you thought about it, Edward found with vampire’s opinion on humans. It changed drastically once you became immortal, understanding humans wasn’t so easy anymore despite the fact that they were one before hand. He laughed at Carlisle’s suggestion, “That would be quite funny, though we’d have to sport them too so as to fit in” He said grinning as well, Alice would surely protest to that. “They both sound like good choices, may have to brush up a bit on my german and dutch.” He said with a shrug, touching on something he hadn’t done in a few years was nearly exciting. “Yes Spain would cause a lot of problems… We’d stick out in the middle of the night even, everyone else being so tanned” Edward said, a smile lingering on his lips.
Edward nodded, “Yes, she’s got quite the addiction to weddings. I’m so glad we’ve got Jasper now, to share the job of best man with.” Edward said shaking his head, it was ridiculous the amount of times he’s stood up for Emmett. “I know, the women have got some odd hobbies” he added. He knew better then to think that his reaction would go unnoticed, that was a rare thing in a family of vampires. “Its fine. I know, I trust him. I know the difficulty he has, I never blamed him” Edward said truthfully. He knew the risks with having Bella this close to vampires, they were perfect with their control, well maybe Carlisle was. “I’ll keep that in mind the next time, or say we have something planned.” he said with a smile, though he did like seeing people trying to say no to Alice. “Ah yes, the look. Luckily I’m immune to it.” Edward said with a laugh, though he rarely did give into things that he didn’t want to do. It did take him a while though, learning how to work around Alice.
He gave a slight sigh, “I know, she’s taken it all extremely well, I expected her to turn and run. In fact I’m still waiting but she just reminds me that she trusts us.” He said, completely unsure how Bella had come to that conclusion, that they could be trusted so easily. “Perfectly fine with the idea of the supernatural, I don’t believe she sees much of a down side to it.” Edward said, it would be safer for Bella to have run but then again, the majority of his being was thankful that she hadn’t run away, more then thankful actually. He smiled at Carlisle’s words, “I try my best. I’m a quick learner, I suppose that’s what helps” Edward said, though many of his mistakes could be considered large ones, like leaving Bella, the thing in Italy, or going on his own in the early thirties. But he couldn’t do much about them now, he just wouldn’t do anything like that again. He dealt with them, fixed them the best he could and that was all he could do. “She did, I’ll be in her debt for eternity, plus I still owe her a car.” He said with a slight smile, “I think Alice one him over with her vision of Bella as an immortal. He’s very curious as to what sort of talent she could possess after she’s changed.” Edward said, knowing that if Caius had had his way Edward would not be sitting here.
Edward couldn’t see himself putting his life, or whatever it was, in danger again. Not seeing the way Esme and Carlisle were like at the airport, worried. He hated seeing them worried. “I should have thought that choice out further, about how it would have affected the family, and you. I don’t want to put everyone though that again” he said. Carlisle was much more then a part of the family to Edward, he wasn’t quite sure how to explain the strength of their relationship or what word would best describe it. He couldn’t imagine not having Carlisle in his life or by his side, wasn’t’ something that he wanted to think about. Edward, as much as he wouldn’t mind having a one on one with Jacob, he would never instigate one or provoke one. too much to lose. “Yes they are, I’m just not as good with them as I could be. I don’t see why we have to be different sides at the moment, we’re both trying to get rid of the same thing” Edward said referring to Victoria and her instant return to the area. But he completely understood Carlisle.
Edward nodded, that was a good idea, though he doubted it would change Bella’s mind any. “I think that is a good idea. We may have to break it up a little though; some are a bit too much to take all in one night.” Edward said, they’d probably also have to give Jasper time to prepare his story. Bella would probably be in a sense eager to hear of the stories, she was interested by his own and Carlisle’s when she heard them. Catching Carlisle’s thoughts he shook his head, “I don’t’ believe it was selfish, not in my opinion anyway. I’m glad you made this choice. Better then the alternative” Edward said. Sure he thought himself a monster at times, but regretting what he was didn’t happen all to often, he’d gained a lot with the change. “I agree, but she doesn’t want to age much, that’s what has got her wanting it so quickly. No, I’ll never be able to push her away again.” Edward said, “She’s looking for after graduation, but I think she should give a semester at college a try. That’s currently where we stand.” Edward said with a bit of a smile and nodded at Carlisle’s words glad he had his support. “Charlie?” Edward said with a bit of a laugh. “Things have been much better between the two of us. Its gotten better, I’m allowed in the house now, though only for a couple of hours. Of course he knows nothing about my spending nights. But I don’t see a need to worry him more with that since it couldn’t be explained fully” Edward said hoping Bella’s house arrest and his banishment from the house would end soon, he didn’t like completely sneaking around.

In return Carlisle nodded and smiled a little, ”Ok” He said, pain and suffering Carlisle, mostly liked to stay away from and protect the family from, however the fact that becoming a vampire meant it, was something Carlisle only did to those who had no hope to be a human. That was one rule he liked to keep. Carlisle grinned at Edwards words, there were definite changes in Edward, and all of them good ones as far as he could see. Moving now was something Carlisle couldn’t see as an option any more. He guessed that for a few more years, they could spin it out, but for how much longer after that, Carlisle could not say, there was only so many years he could pass for his age, and well school was nearing an end. So something was needed to be done soon or there might not be any choice anymore for them.
Carlisle laughed as he shrugged, ”I’d hope so, or I shall just have to tell Emma and then maybe he will stop injuring himself. How many times can you bandage a person?” He joked, knowing that it was quiet a few, though he wasnt too sure he wanted to find out. ”Maybe not such a good idea then, i think bubble wrap free vampires are better” He said as he laughed. ”Ok then, it should be fun... its been a while since we had a holiday of sorts.” Carlisle said as he thought about it, it had been a good long while since they had a holiday. Apart from the different places they moved to, they have not gone anywhere different. Carlisle laughed, as he nodded, “Oh yes, I forgot about that one. We would be the best looking pale people there. Though Forks is the best place for none tanned people.” [/b]He said smiling.
”I feel sorry for Jasper in a way. Yes sharing the best man duties is a good thing, but being dragged along by Alice. There is no escaping for him, but I dont think he minds it too much”. It seemed that every new place they went, someone got married. Sometimes Carlisle thought that was the nly reason Alice had so much fun in moving, along with Rose and Esme who were always making house plans. Carlisle was far happy to move into a place, and for it to remain untouched. But no, Carlisle had no say in that. Laughing again Carlisle sat back in the chair. ”I wouldnt say that around our women folk. I already have injuries from arguing about shopping, its dangerous to mess with their hobbies” He said lightly, knowing it was untrue as vampires didnt get hurt, however it didnt stop any of the women getting their own way. Carlisle noticed Edwards wince, “It was just a mistake Edward. We all make them, and I understand how you feel about Bella, but we are who we are.” Carlisle knew that it wasnt something Edward would want to hear, but still it was a mistake that Carlisle was sure Jasper would never make again. “Its good to know, does Jasper know you dont blame him?” Carlisle asked, maybe foolishly.
Carlisle grinned, ”Thanks, I would owe you for it!” He said, it was like the great escape with Alice. ”I could use the vaccine against it, extra strength.” He joked. Carlisle found it hard to understand Bella, she seemed so blasé about it, like they were just like then next door neighbour, with the small fact that they jut happened to be of the vampire variety. “We can be trusted Edward, but Bella takes it to a whole new level. Its just.. really wow that she hasnt become freaked out by our ways.” Bella was one of the most complicated humans that Carlisle knew, along side her knack for finding trouble in the most safe of places. ”We both know that isnt true, though she does love you Edward, and you know what that is like.. you would do anything to be with Bella right? Perhaps that is her reasoning with being ok with the supernatural.” He suggested. Edwards mistakes were few, however big they might appear when he made them it was all forgotten soon enough. Carlisle laughed at Edward mentioning a car, as he nodded. Carlisle did not liked that part, Aros curiosity was bad, and well it meant that they might be looking over their shoulders watching out for Bella more than they already were.
Carlisle didn’t think he could ever feel the way he did when Edward left, again. For a while Carlisle had thought that Edward was lost, after all Aro was not one to mess around. Especially if the vampire existence was jeopardised. And Alice was away with Bella trying to stop it, three people that he deeply cared about, in danger and Carlisle could do nothing but wait and hope with everyone else. “Its good to hear that Edward. I couldnt loose you, twice is enough for me and Esme I think. Even Rose missed and was worried about you” Carlisle said with a smile, he knew that Rose and Edward often had their disagreements, but they all cared a lot about each other. “I think Jacobs feelings had a little to do with that, and well I dont think this generation of wolves are as understanding as the last. Or that might just be me.” He said grinning a little. ”I think that we can work together, it just might take some time and well a lot of give on both sides” It was something that Carlisle had never thought would happen, and the possibility of the two working together was a first. Something which he was grateful for.
Carlisle nodded in agreement, ”Yes, and some are... well more terrifying than others. Jaspers was the one Carlisle thought about, along side Rose and Alice. Though he did not see Bella backing down from it easily. ”That means a lot Edward.” Carlisle replied, he knew that Rose had not been exactly overjoyed with the fact of her new identity but then it was true the alternative was not so great either. ”The alternative was not a good one. Im glad I did it.” He said, although that may have sounded a little wrong, Carlisle was happy that Edward was glad with the choice Carlisle had made. ”Have you told her that Esme, is three years older than myself?” He asked, though he doubted that fact would change much. Carlisle laughed as Edward explained about Charlie. ”I think that keeping that a secret is good. He might have heart failure if you told him. But it seems he is warming up to you again, he seems to really like Alice though. If only he saw the side of her we do.” Carlisle said laughing again. Well Charlie had to come around sooner or later, and the sooner the better for everyone. [/size]

The smile stayed on Edward's lips when Carlisle spoke though he was often smiling when in the presence of a family member, well maybe not Rosalie but that wasn't always his fault. Edward wasn’t one to enjoy inflicting pain on others, even when he’d gone on his own the first time, a human diet, the kills were quick and painless, half the time they didn’t even know what got them. He rarely ‘played’ with his food to the extent that Emmett did with taunting and provoking the bears, which was amusing to watch at times he had to admit. Had you known Edward before Bella came into his non-existing life, the changes she’d caused would be perfectly obvious. She’d caused his long forgotten human emotions to rise to the top again and he seemed to be losing a bit of that rough edge he’d had towards humans that kept them away from him. Now he sat with Alice at Bella’s lunch table in the midst of humans with a far less harsh look on his face. Moving would be difficult if him and Bella couldn’t work out a way for her to come with, though luckily college seemed to be just around the corner for her so that would be easier, maybe he’d even be lucky enough to attend. Of course if Bella got her desire she’d be leaving Forks immortal as well.
Edward grinned at his father’s words, “Yes, if she found out then maybe he’d be more obvious in a way that didn’t have him rushed to the ER for stitches every couple of days. I’m not sure how many times, but I’m guessing you can’t do it forever.” Edward said shrugging slightly. “Hmm, yes, could imagine the complaining we’d have to put up with if Rosalie had to wrap herself up in bubble wrap before leaving the house and well, I don’t even want to know what Alice would do” he said the grin still on his face, the idea of Rosalie having to sport bubble wrap was quite amusing to him. He nodded, “It should, it’ll do us some good to have a vacation away from the norm for a little while.” Edward said, he enjoyed Europe the last time they were there, quite a difference from America and a nice change even if it was just for a little while. And there really wasn’t many new places in which to move that would allow them to move about in the day time hours because of the sun. Edward laughed at Carlisle’s comment. “We usually are. But I’m sure we’d be the only pale people in Spain. Yes one of Forks’ many upsides.” Edward agreed, he actually quite enjoyed the place, aside from the neighbouring wolves.
He nodded, though he’d never seen or heard Jasper complain about anything Alice was or did do. “I know, he does it all without any complaints. I guess he’s just grown use to it.” Edward said, of course it could be the fact that the two were very much in love that helped. Edward couldn’t really recall how many weddings he had attended in the last two decades let alone his entire existence so far. The process for moving with Edward was just the same everywhere they went, packed his stuff up and placed it in an unclaimed room and then found a place to stow away so he wouldn’t get roped into helping decorate or anything, but he could hardly say no if Esme or Alice found him. Edward shook his head, “No me either, thankfully I don’t lack common sense. I won’t even think that in their presence since I’m sure they’d some how know.” he said, Alice would definitely know, those visions of hers helping her out which sometimes were the cause of why he ended up driving her to a shopping mall for a good five hours or more. He was getting better at controlling his reactions to his latest mistake. He nodded agreeing with Carlisle, those things happened to a human so close to a family of vampires though he’d prevent it as best he could. “I was more affect by that night then she was…” Edward said wit a bit of a smile. He had never wanted to take a side against anyone in the family like he’d done that night with Jasper, but it was necessary, they both knew that. “I believe he does, we made amends of sorts that night while you were fixing Bella up. But I think he still feels guilty in a way” Edward said.
He laughed, “It’s the least I could do for you.” Edward said, feeling that he owed Carlisle for a lot anyway. He laughed again at Carlisle’s joke about the vaccine. Edward was no closer to understanding Bella’s reactions then he had been the first day they met, most would have up and moved (had there been a seat available) the moment they saw the harsh look on his face during that class of biology. Yet she kept coming back and he found it harder and harder to push her away, not that he’d tried to hard too many things kept him wanting to be near her. He nodded, “I mean, I’m glad that she’s not scared or anything. Even when she’d found out how she tempted me, being alone wasn’t something that phased her at all, she’d wanted it. It was confusing for the longest while” Edward said, though he figured he’d never have a full understanding of Bella, seeing as her mind was off limits which could be frustrating at times, especially when her facial expressions gave away so much but yet not enough. Edward smiled at Carlisle’s words. “Yes I would, whatever it took” Edward said, of course he was denying her the desire she truly wanted at the moment but that probably wouldn’t last forever since Alice’s vision hadn’t changed since Bella first mentioned it. He wasn’t pleased with the fact that the Volturi would be keeping tabs on the family due to his actions, and he felt bad for that, though it was better then Caius having gotten his way. He’d been surprised though that his over protective nature didn’t get him in more trouble during his time in Volterra.
Edward wasn’t one for the nomadic lifestyle, knowing that from before but needed time to deal by himself. Had he waited to confirm with Alice instead of Rosalie, that big mess in Volterra could have been avoided. He was glad that Aro had been in a good mood that day, though it probably helped that the three of them possessed abilities which Aro seemed to covet. Aside from having Bella run into his arms and save him, seeing Carlisle and Esme at the airport was the best thing he’d seen in months at that point. He smiled, “You don’t have to worry, I’m done with venturing out on my own, twice is all I can handle. Yeah, I missed her too” Edward said, even if the two of them wouldn’t come out and say those words exact, they knew it. Their disagreements and arguments were nothing when you came down to what really mattered, they just clashed. He nodded, “Hmm, yes he doesn’t make things easy that’s for sure. No I think your right, they’re not so welcoming, though it could have something to do with the fact that Bella is so close to me, to us.” Edward said “Time will definitely be needed, but working together would be a great benefit to both of us I think.” Edward said though working with wolves had never been something he figured he’d be suggesting but Bella and her safety was his priority and well Victoria was a huge threat to that.
“Yes they are, though from the vividness and fact that Alice’s vision hasn’t changed, I don’t think Bella will change her mind.” Edward said, he was far less then thrilled the first time he saw that vision. He nodded at Carlisle’s words, he hadn’t been to fond of teetering on the edge of death, kind of the whole too young to die thing and he knew it was going to be a long drawn out process. Sure the pain of the change was more then he thought it would be, but it was just three days and then he was fine for the rest of eternity. “I didn’t find it too difficult to adapt to, you know after the thirst wasn’t so strong and I got use to the voices” he said with a smile, that was overwhelming the first time he was in a crowded place. He smiled, “I have but she said it was different, she doesn’t want to look twenty while I still appear to be seventeen. I’m lucky she’s waiting this long, though a fight might be on my hands once she gets closer to nineteen” Edward said with a shrug. “Yes, I’ve never planned on revealing that to him, heart failure or reach for a gun.” he said with a laugh, not that a bullet worried him, “He sees that Bella isn’t going to change her mind nor am I leaving again, though he doesn’t feel the need to stop bring Jacob up into a conversation or something. I’ve brought her a long a couple of times so that Bella’s visiting hours could be extended. I’m sure he’d change his mind if he saw that Alice.” Edward laughed.
