Carlisle knew he had been getting hungry recently, because his eyes started to darken in colour. Soon enough as though they were no other colour, his eyes reached to the darkest colour they could, black. Carlisle knew he could control his thirst, better than anyone for a while longer, however it was not worth risking things, he decided that it was time to hunt. He ran gracefully through the forest, searching for some animal to hunt and relieve them of their blood. He silently tore past trees, and other vegetation in the forest.
Carlisle suddenly stopped and stood as still as the trees next to him, he saw a beautiful stag race carefully across the plain. It looked delicious, and Carlisle thought he would have a chance to ask it to dinner. He ran swiftly down hill and just as he appeared next to the doe, his foot got caught on a pile of twigs. Instead of stopping he flew past the deer, and smashed into the tree. Of course his dinner had vanished, and its scent was still lingering. Peeling himself from the tree relatively unhurt he looked around at the indentation that now lay present in the tree.
"There goes dinner" he said, as he laughed to himself, in the silence. A sudden ray of sunshine shone through the trees, and hit his skin. His skin turned from pale almost ghostly white, to glittering diamonds. Carlisle continued searching for more food, though deciding on taking it a little slower, and then he could hopefully curve his thirst for animal blood. The family knew where he was, and the general location in the forest, they had all been invited, via phone message for the hunt, though Carlisle couldn't wait much longer for them, so he had taken off unsure if anyone was actually going to show.

Esme smiled as she followed Carlisle's trail. She had gotten the message but had to change before going. Skirts were not the best thing to try to hunt in. She looked up where the sun began to filter through the trees. It hit her skin like a soft kolidascope. The light wasn't pure enough to make her sparkle, but it was a beautiful sight.
She was slightly distracted and almost forgot what she was doing. But once back on track she raced after him with a smile on her face. SHe had been looking foreward to this. Her eyes had begun to get darker. They now were a deep brown. It was a little harder for her to control her tendencies than Carlisle, so she had avoided leaving home. This trip was needed for her.
She stopped as she caught sight of Carlisle shining in the slight sun beaming down from above them. He never ceased to amaze her. It was the same now as it was when they were younger. "My dear, you are the most beautiful creature out here." She said breaking the silence.

Carlisle should have never let his eyes get so dark, but then when was there time for hunting. It was almost like things conspired against him. Which would not be so far from the truth. The humans were becoming more and more clumsy he thought, as the ER was slowly becoming more and more busy. It generally was a bad thing, though it gave him a job, and he enjoyed doing it. So all wasn't lost, no matter what the cost for the humans.
The familiar scent of Esme drifted past his face. Her scent was intoxicating for him, as he immediately turned on the spot, as he heard her voice. He smiled widely at her, "Thank you Esme, but compared to you, that is not true." He said to her as he walked over. "My dear it looks like you need some blood" He remarked, "Shall we fetch dinner?" He asked her smiling, knowing that it would involve a chase maybe, unless he could manage to be the gentleman and catch something for her.

She smiled. I don't think that is true." She told him when he had commented on their beauty. "I do need it. I have been avoiding town so as to not be tempted. I know I could have went while I was alone, but where is the fun in that?" Her smile had wavered a little but as she finished her statement it had grown with the hint of a joke.

There was no way Emmett was going to miss out on a hunting trip. He’d take any excuse to go, really, and the family coming along was a bonus. His eyes had been getting dangerously dark lately, and it was probably a good thing that he was going sooner rather than later. He didn’t have the kind of self-control that Carlisle and Edward did. Not even close. Still, he guessed he wasn’t as bad as Jasper.
Carlisle really wasn’t too hard to find. Emmett was a little late, but he’d had some stuff to take care of. They were nothing important, just random things that had popped into his head just as he’d been ready to leave. When he finally caught up to Carlisle and Esme, he shot a grin at his ‘parents’. He was really hoping that they’d find something a little bigger than a herd of deer. Deer --- don’t get Emmett started on those. Sure, they were fine, but he liked something a little more challenging. Like angry grizzlies or lethal polar bears. Deer looked tame next to those kinds of prey.
Emmett figured that deer might be all they’d find in this area, though. Maybe if he was lucky he could come across a mountain lion or a wolf or something. Not one of La Push’s wolves – he wouldn’t touch one of those with a fifty-foot pole. They smelled even less appetizing than those damn deer.
“Sorry I’m late.” Emmett apologized, ready to get on with the hunt.

Carlisle grinned at Esme, "Always a tease" he replied, to her. AS she spoke he smiled ever wider at her, "True, there is not fun in that. But seems like it might be more fun now." He said to her, as he caught another familiar scent.
Emmett, he thought as he turned and heard the voice. Hunting was almost as good as baseball in a way, however the competition often became heated with all going for the dame thing. Though Carlisle wasn't too bothered about it. He knew how Emmett like to take out the larger pray, and have a 'challenge'. Something Carlisle would try and keep clear of was grizzlies, not that they didn't taste great, but getting hurt wasn't a part of his immediate plan. However where they were, he wasn't too sure Emmett would catch the game he was after.
Looking over at Emmett he smiled, "Your not late, we were just getting started." he said, "Would anyone care to have a wager on this? Type of prey, amount, who's fastest?" he asked, Alice wasn't seen or smelled about so it was a one in three chance for all of them. Not that a quick glimpse into the future wouldn't help, he just learned from experience that betting against Alice was a bad idea. He looked at Emmett, with a slight hint of humour in his face, that on Carlisle part could not be helped, as he stood there.

Edward was obviously with Bella when he got the notice about a family hunt. It had seemed like it was while since the last time they all got together and hunted. They were always fun and Edward hadn’t been letting his eyes get darker then a golden brown lately not wanting to take any chances decided this would be fun. Edward told Bella he’d be back as soon as he could, and had headed home first. He needed to one, drop of his car and two, he had to change. The clothing he was sporting wasn’t exactly what he liked to wear while hunting in case he got blood on him, so he went with more faded clothing he’d stashed at the back of his closet for days like this. He was looking forward to the family hunt, hoping that it would be made interesting in some competitive way. Some times he figured the lot of them were too competitive for their own good.
Jumping from his window, it being quicker, Edward took off in a run as soon as he’d hit the ground. He didn’t have to even look for any of his family, he could already hear Esme, Carlisle and Emmett around each other, well Emmett was just about to join them and Edward himself wasn’t too far behind. He hadn’t taken much time to look at the time they were suppose to meet, and hearing Em’s apology for being late he wondered if he as too. But then he’d heard Carlisle assure his brother he wasn’t, and since Edward was almost there he wouldn’t be either. He smiled hearing Carlisle’s wager as he came to a complete stop next to Emmett, glancing up at him.
“I’ll take that wager.” Edward said keeping the smile on his lips and sticking his hands in his pockets casually. “Glad to see I didn’t miss anything.” Edward added looking around at the members of his family.

Esme smiled as the two boys joined them. "Why is it that we can't have fun together without making it a competition?" She asked jokingly. She knew that if they didn't do it this way, though, they wouldn't have as much fun. "I will just stick with whatever I find and then watch you three play."
