Sunlight filled the small room through the transparent, glass wall., the glare across the various CD cases that lined one wall filling the room with light. Warmth permeated the room brushing the icy skin of the singular vampire who occupied it. Aside from the near statue of a creature, the room was unremarkable, the bright colors not what one would expect from a vampire's bedroom.
Edward sat perfectly still on the small sofa in his room, his skin glistening in the sun with more than normal mortality. Light brown eyes stared blankly out at the window, watching the wind play with the trees. Days like this were not quite so common in Forks. In fact, these were the days most of the kids dreamed of. The Cullen's, however, were subject to the indoors, well out of the sight of others. They were hiking. Outdoorsey family was what the locals called it. It was a believable lie, but Edward would much rather stay near Bella. He was growing more and more nervous each time she left his sight, and whenever it was necessary, he made sure Alice was keeping a close eye on her future. Nothing today. Hopefully that prediction would remain clear. Alice assured him, and he would simply have to make do with that.
In a single fluid movement, he would be gone, not wasting his time with slowing his motions to the movements of human eyes. There were not any humans in the Cullen house, at least none that he knew of. And he certainly had no reason to hide. It was the one place where none of the Cullens had to hide what they truly were, and the sanctuary was not taken for granted. Living among the mortals, Edward longed for a place where he could just be himself, only slightly altering his behavior so as not to listen in on their thoughts.
As it was, he needn't have worried. As he arrived in the kitchen, no one was around. Various members of his family were about... somewhere, but none within easy distance. Not that he minded. These days were often their own to do with what they will, as long as they didn't get into trouble. The button-up shirt he was wearing had a few buttons undone, the light causing the shimmer to intensify. The warmth felt soothing to his cold body, but soon his mind became distracted. Picking up the untouched newspaper, his eyes would scan the headlines, finding one in particular. More deaths. A small crease formed on his brow as he read, not paying particular attention to his surroundings.

Alice sighed,, again there was nothing she could do but stay so cooped up in the mansion sized house. There was nothing worse than having nothing to do,, she sat in her small-ish room. As she listened for any noise,, anything to say that she wasn't alone in the house. she doubted she could cope if she had to go through the whole day if she had spend it on her own. DAM! the sun. Why'd it have to be sunny today any way,, she'd be looking for so much other stuff that she'd completely lost track of looking at the weather,, other wise she'd have known and sorted out some of the family to go hunting some were nice. Were there was going to be big prey to kill and feast on.
Her eyes darted up wards as she heard Edward moving something around in his small room -well what he called a room,, it was more like a cell to Alice- with her bed room,, being the biggest in the house,, second to only Carlisle and Esme's bedroom. When Alice and Jasper moved in,, even Alice thought that was bit too much. She couldn't just take the master bedroom of the house. she laughed as some of her old memories flooded back to her,, when she made Jasper help move all Edward's stuff out into the garage and the look on his face when she could great everyone by first name. It was a comical few days to begin with.
She smiled to herself as she danced out of her room,, and leaped up the stairs. Something she did all the time,, it was nice to know that everyone had some were where they could be a hundred percent there selfs. Alice just loved being able to put all her 'ability's' to use. Even if it was for just getting up the stairs quicker. She laughed before speaking. "EDWARD!" she squealed,, before walking -at a human pace,, as she had all day to get to his room- into the small cramped room. With a beaming smile on her face,, Edward really was one of her favorite brother. He was just so much more fun to be around than Emmett,, he was just normal... he wanted to fight all the time,, it wasn't something Alice overly enjoyed doing.
She smiled,, as she twirled across the room,, to sit on the edge of the sofa that was in Edwards room. She had seen allot in these past few days,, allot about Bella and what she would become for one. Edward was really the only one in the family that needed to get to grips with the fact that Isabella Swan would one day become a vampire like the rest of the family. "So... whats happening today?" she said as she pointed toward the news paper. Wondering if there was anything interesting there,, that she could know about. Not that she needed Edward to tell her,, she just needed a conversation starter.

Edward was only slightly surprised to see Alice in his doorway. Her scent gave her away, along with the melodic thoughts she entertained. Of course, the natural instinct was to turn that noise into a soft mutter that was scarcely recognizable, but not before he heard her intent to visit. Still, his mind was split in its focus so until she actually spoke his name, he was completely consumed by the paper.
Brown eyes flickered up at the voice, her human movements seeming slow in their house. The corner of his lip turned upwards at her greeting. "Good morning to you too," he muttered softly, though his tone was amused. If she had bad news to tell him, she would have simply told him or seemed worried. She gave no sign that there was a need to worry, so he took his cue from her. Instead, he tossed the paper towards her, knowing if she wanted her quick reflexes would catch it before it hit the ground.
"Just more of the same," his voice was slightly serious, his brow lowering slightly with worry. So far, nothing had been seen, but if this rate kept up then the Volturi would soon be knocking on their doors. He wasn't an idiot, he didn't believe they would make it all the way to Seattle and not stop by their old friend's house. He rolled his eyes slightly, but he knew that Alice felt his true frustration. She was the one who was there when he faced the Volturi, and she had been the one to help bring him back. And strangely enough, that only seemed to strengthen the bond between them which was already close.
But Alice would also know his only worry. He didn't care if this was some rogue feeding his insatiable thirst. Yes, it was terrible for those involved, but he was really only concerned with Bella. Sweet, fragile Bella who sat unknowingly at school, at least he hoped so. He glanced out the window for a moment, his eyes seeming to glaze over slightly while Alice read the paper. Carlisle kept trying to reassure Edward, as did his family, but the overprotective vampire never seemed to take notice.
"How long until you think they'll come to deal with the situation?" His voice was soft, the question lingering in the air as it was the one he had been dying to voice. It was generally assumed in the Cullen house that the killer was a vampire. Traditionally, they did not get involved in the affairs of others, but what else could Edward let his mind roam to except how to keep his family and beloved Bella safe?

She grinned,, as she replied with a good morning. Though she didn't speak it,, just simply thought it. She knew he wasn't always trying to listen to her thoughts but seen as she was here,, she guessed he was listening. She smiled,, as she ran one of her delicate hands through her shorts spiky pixie like hair cut. Something that had never changed about her,, she had always had the same hair style she loved it so much,, it suited her perfectly so she didn't see any need to change it.
'Just more of the same,'. Jeez,, when would they stop,, things were going to get out of hand soon if someone didn't do something to stop these vampire which Alice knew to be roaming the streets of Seattle. Something she wished would cancel itself out,, but new it wouldn't. The Volturi were a scary thought when Bella was around. She still hadn't been bitten or turned into a vampire,, a promise Alice had to make sure happened. She didn't want to see her family in any more trouble that it already was in. "Edward,, it'll stop eventually,, well when i look forward month's in advance,, things seemed to have stopped" she smiled. Though it wasn't much of a reassurance.
'How long until you think they'll come to deal with the situation?',, honestly Alice would only give it a month of so before things got heated with the Volturi,, as everyone knew if they came as close as Seattle no doubts that would drop in on the Cullen's. Check things were going OK,, and Bella had be changed as they had promised. It wasn't really looking good for the family at all. Alice's only real worry though -apart from Bella- was Jasper,, she didn't want him to be near the Volturi no one wanted to be that close to them. Especially not Alice and if they were around Jasper,, she could only guess what sort of emotions he'd experience. None of which were good ones.
"Seriously,, I'd give it a month or two tops" she gave a weak smile,, one that was easily seen through,, especially by Edward. "You know it would all work out a hell of allot better if you gave Bella her wish" Alice stated,, she knew it would happen. she could see the change in Bella,, the pale icy skin,, the red eyes of a new born. Everything. She just really didn't understand why he wouldn't give Bella what she wanted. It was after all a perfectly reasonable wish to have. Even if it did mean leaving her human life behind,, loads of people had done it. So why wouldn't Edward let Bella do it now. It was something that Alice felt strongly about,, she wanted Bella to become one of them. She was already a much a part of the family as anyone else,, so why not let her become a safe and indestructible -or less indestructible- family member.

Edward would nod his head slightly. He of course could read her thoughts, the soft buzz forming words more often. He purposefully ignored them half the time, but the other half it was a particularly interesting communication tool. His smirk twisted slightly as he looked up at her, having been caught listening. His eyes closed as he listened to her diagnosis of the situation.
Months. Months and the Volturi would arrive. If it settled down now, may he'd be able to postpone the intervention for awhile, but if things kept going this way there wasn't anything he could do. Fingers rose to rub his temples, a very human habit whenever there was a headache. The motion seemed to soothe him, at least for the time being.
Her next comment took him a little off guard. Perhaps it shouldn't have as it seemed his entire family was siding against him on this subject. Bella as a vampire. No, he simply couldn't allow the thought to enter his mind. And regardless of the image that flashed in Alice's mind, he simply couldn't bring himself to give in.
"No." The tone was acid as he spoke the single syllable. She knew where he stood on the subject, he wasn't even sure why she brought it up. It wasn't as though there was going to be some great change in his mind. In fact, he was already finding ways to keep her human longer. If it were possible, he would attempt it. There was so much more to the situation than his family realized. He didn't want to be a monster, but he certainly didn't want Bella to lose everything for him. Everything. Did Alice not realize the situation in that light? He let out his breath sharply before glancing up at her, his eyes dark with emotion.
"I've been considering the situation, and I believe there's a way around that." The tone spoke finality on the subject, but Alice rarely listened to that anyway. It's part of what made her so close to him, but also part of what made him slightly irritated. He knew his position on the subject was a cause of confusion and frustration for his family, but he wasn't about to give in. Not when something as precious as Bella's soul was on the line. Alice would most likely see his solution in her vision, as he was already beginning to think through the plans and things he would need to have accomplished to pull it off.

Alice sighed,, as she knew he was listening to what was going on in her head. It wasn't like she cared,, she was happy for people to know everything about her if they wanted. It was just most normal,, or sane people would keep there distance from the Cullen family. As they could be quite intimidating sometimes,, especially Emmett. He was just... so... scary to most people. Alice smiled,, she really did like spending time with Emmett when he didn't have his mind on fighting with Jasper or Edward,, or well his mind seemed to spend allot of time on Rosalie these days. The thought just made Alice cringe,, why'd they have to be so open about there relationship,, not everyone liked watching them. Alice was very happy with her relationship and they it was with Jasper on the other hand,, it was very private. She loved it.
"No? you'll have to do it soon" it would have to happen soon,, Alice new it. And she hoped Edward would come to realize this soon. As she would change,, everything about her being human was set to disappear. Alice mind brought back the image of Bella as a vampire. Edward had to realize soon. He just had to,, though she knew he was no doubts going to be stubborn about it.
She knew it would hurt him to see Bella go through such a dramatic change,, but it had to happen. There was no doubt about it. Alice couldn't change the future,, and if she wanted too. Bella wouldn't listen to her. Bella was as stubborn as Edward at times,, and wouldn't change her mind. Alice couldn't change that,, and to be honest she wanted Bella to become like her and Edward. It was what she wanted more than anything else at the moment. The quicker Bella changed the better.
"There is no other way,, but I'm open to suggestions Edward,, go on then spill,, whats your way around it?" Alice asked quickly,, in a low. And slightly hurt tone. She didn't like seeing Edward upset,, but she didn't like the way he had said no to either. It was like she wasn't going to get what she wanted,, not that she was spoiled. She just hated not being able to get her own way. It was annoying,, when she could see what was going to happen,, and things weren't going to go her way.
"I'm all ear about your suggestions... you know I'll try and listen to them" she smiled,, she would listen,, as best as she could. she just wasn't sure how well she would listen,, though she knew her thoughts were likely to drift if she wasn't interested in what Edward was saying. [/size]

It was not exactly a mental image that he wanted to see, Bella as a vampire. It hurt him far more when he saw the potential the future held. True, he'd love to have her with him... forever. But really, he could not sit on the sidelines as she gave up everything for him. Of course, he didn't deserve her. He was a monster. A monster who constantly put her into danger and kept her from living a normal life. If he were not in this unnatural state of prolonged life, he'd already be gone. She would be safe from him. A pain clenched around his unbeating heart.
He shook his head, as if to reinforce his previous statement. "Alice, your visions are not perfect," he reminded roughly. It wasn't that he didn't appreciate her power, but he was well aware that there were exceptions. He could change the future for Bella. He could make it to where she could have a long, happy life. And if she so chose, she could have a long, happy life with him. He'd have to content himself with that. The fact that his family was not supportive in this decision was more than a little frustrating.
Running a hand through is hair, he'd sigh. He'd not meant to hurt Alice, but the connection between them was strained on this topic. He glanced up at her, his eyes hardening to her. He wouldn't give in. Not on this subject, not ever. Bella was too young. She had so much to live for. There was so much she hadn't experienced. No. It was his final message on the subject. And he did have a way around these things.
A corner of his lip turned upwards, creating a familiar half-smirk, but there was no mirth in the appearance. Alice should know how Edward worked, so his mind had already come up with alternate plans. He'd not give in, at least not without a fight; recently he'd even begun to suspect his family of turning her behind his back. It was foolish, of course, but he could not deny the slight doubt that they would do something like that.
"There are ways around the Volturi. At least until she's lived her life." His tone seemed resigned. He knew that life without Bella would be impossible, and he'd already revealed what he would do should he lose her. Their time together would be only too short, but they could make the most of every moment together. They would make the most of it, as long as she wanted him with her.
"They rely very heavily on their gifts, Alice. And Bella; she's unique. She's special and I don't believe they'll know how to proceed. I just need you to keep an eye out for their decision." He knew she wouldn't understand. No one seemed to understand. Of course, he couldn't blame her. Because of him, Alice became attached to Bella. She would be hurt when Bella remained human as well. But she had Jasper. She could keep going; he consoled himself with such thoughts.
"We can discuss our decision if they make their decision..."

Alice so wished she didn't flash the images of Bella as a vampire across her mind,, but Edward needed to know,, he couldn't let her keep on surviving in her human body. It really wasn't fair on her. She deserved better than that,, and she needed to be much more... sturdy? to be able to hang around with vampires all her life. Even Alice managed to get herself hurt sometimes,, just be everyday things that happened. She didn't need Edward mind reading power to be able to tell what Edward still thought of himself,, he classed himself as a monster... Alice on the other hand had came to terms with what she was... and was more than happy to live out all the decades she had left as a vampire.
"HELL! Edward i know that there not perfect,, but i know this is going to happen... the visions just seem so strong almost like i can touch them... you have to be able to accept fait!" she tried her best at aiming a smile at her brother. The more Alice thought about it though the more she knew she wanted Bella as a vampire,, for herself as much as anything else. Bella was practically her sister now. And nothing would change that,, it would just break her heart if she lost her now. After coming so close to having her changed and bitten.
She scowled at him,, though he would be used to her doing that now. She wasn't used to not getting her own way and this was just an annoying subject to her. Though it was her own fault as she brought it up in the first place. So she couldn't really complain much,, it was just fact that Alice would have to live with her brother didn't want his partner to become like him... from some reason's which Alice was totally against and to her didn't make much sense. She wasn't going to give up though,, she would sink her teeth into Bella at some point if that’s what Bella asked of her. Edward,, you know i'll do it... i can restrain myself... if i have Jasper with me she set a playful smile creep across her face.
The Volturi could find anyone they wanted,, she didn't see how Edward was rationalizing with himself. She didn't see how he could keep Bella in her current form. She wanted to be a vampire. She didn't want to stay in the form she was at the moment. Alice would go as far to say that Bella was close to hating it. She wanted to be a full member of the family,, and well she couldn't be until she was bitten and letting the venom spread fully. Keeping her alive for eternity. Giving Alice yet another sister.
"She wants to live her life with you,, and be what we are... you have to let her do this... you can't not let her do this. She wants it,, she needs it." she stated it all as fact. She could only guess this was true as she couldn't read Bella's mind,, but she knew Bella wanted to become a vampire. She wanted to be like Edward and the rest of the family. In Alice's opinion,, -though she knew it wouldn't be listened too- it was cruel to keep Bella in her human form when she was hanging around vampires,, and dating one of them. She was far to breakable when it came to things a vampire family did,, she'd never be able to fully mix whilst still in her weak human form. "She's unique but you can't hide for forever... no one can... not even i could" she gave a weak smile at him.
"Edward... you know i've been keeping an eye on the situation since we were in Italy. I can't not do it,, i won't let Bella die!" she glared at him,, shooting daggers with her eyes. She would never let Bella die,, it would break her tiny dead heart if she did. Though yes she'd always have Jasper,, it didn't change the fact Bell's was still family. Nothing short of that,, but a hell of allot more. Bella was her life.
